Exclusive: Actress Jillian Bell (Brittany Runs a Marathon) is set to make her feature directorial debut with Summer of 69, an American High comedy for Hulu, starring Saturday Night Live‘s Chloe Fineman.

Disney Branded Television and Disney+ Hotstar released the teaser for the Disney+ Original series ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’, revealing that the Wildcats will take their final bow this summer. From Disney Branded Television, the Emmy-nominated television series was inspired by the hugely popular ‘High School Musical‘ movies, which first aired on Disney Channel in 2006 and 2007, and theatrically in 2008.

“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is coming to a close. The teen musical comedy’s upcoming fourth season will be its last on Disney+.

The met series is set at the high school where the original “High School Musical” movies were filmed and centers on a group of teenage musical theater lovers who decide to mount a production of “High School Musical.”

In Season 4, which premieres on Aug. 9, the Wildcats return to East High after an epic summer at Camp Shallow Lake and prepare a stage production of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” But plans are disrupted when Principal Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited “High School Musical 4: The Reunion” movie on location at their beloved high school.

The series will end with its fourth season, Disney+ and showrunner Tim Federle announced Wednesday. Season four is set to premiere on Aug. 9 with a binge release of all eight episodes. The series also released a trailer for the final season.

“This series was always about found family, and about making something you love with people you love. In other words, it was a tribute to theater kids,” Federle said in a statement. “I can’t wait for our dedicated fan base to watch this world-class cast take a final bow.”

It's Sharpay and what's-his-name! Ashley Tisdale just revisited her days as a Wildcat and didn't miss a beat. The actress joined TikToker Chris Olsen for a clip on the social media app on Aug. 18 set to her character Sharpay Evans's song "I Want It All" from "High School Musical 3."

In the video, Tisdale - a regular TikTok queen - expertly lip-syncs to the lyrics she sang in the 2008 movie musical, with Olsen taking on the role of her onscreen brother, Ryan (originally portrayed by Lucas Grabeel). Olivia Rodrigo has shifted almost entirely into pop star mode, but she’s keeping one foot in the door at her old Disney+ stomping grounds, at least for now. According to Entertainment Tonight, the actress-turned-chart topper will reprise her lead role as Nina Salazar-Roberts on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as a recurring character for season three.

The presence of Rodrigo’s character was notably diminished in the early episodes of season two, which was filmed in Salt Lake City — pre-“Drivers License” — during the making of her debut album Sour.

Corbin Bleu is returning some familiar territory a role in the third season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”

Bleu, Adrian Lyles, Meg Donnelly, Saylor Bell, and Jason Earles have all joined the Disney Plus series, which has just begun production Season 3. Bleu, Donnelly, and Earles will appear in guest star roles, while Lyles and Bell will be series regulars.

The Disney+ comedy’s third season — which finds the students of East High putting on a production of Frozen at Camp Shallow Lake — officially began production on Tuesday, with Corbin Bleu (HSM), Meg Donnelly (Zombies) and Jason Earles (Hannah Montana) all set to make guest appearances.

Disney+ is keeping the curtain raised at East High, renewing High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for Season 3, TVLine has learned. But not without a few key twists!

For starters, production is relocating from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles in order to accomodate the summer-themed season, which will “follow the Wildcats as they leave the hallways of East High for the ultimate summer at sleepaway camp, complete with campfires, summer romances and curfew-less nights.”

What turned out to be Chadwick Boseman’s final turn as T’Challa of Wakanda — in the animated Disney+ series What If…? — was to have a left a lasting impression on the MCU.

In the second episode of the anthology series, now streaming and titled “What If… T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?,” Boseman offers a lighter, more witty take on his MCU character. (For example, he at one point quips that he has tried to get Thanos and Nebula into family counseling.)

Disney+ has released trailers, in both Japanese and with English dubbing, for Star Wars: Visions, an anthology series from Lucasfilm that tells new stories in the style and tradition of Japanese anime.

Exclusive: Some mysterious extraterrestrials are headed to Seabrook. Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Kyra Tantao (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) and newcomer Terry Hu have joined the cast of Zombies 3, the third installment of Disney Channel’s hit Zombies movie franchise.

Cornett and Tantao will portray extraterrestrials A-Lan and A-Li, respectively. Hu, a nonbinary actor, will play the role of nonbinary alien A-Spen. The telepathically connected newcomers arrive in Seabrook as Zed and Addison begin their final year at Seabrook High in the town that’s become a safe haven for monsters and humans alike.
