Colin DePaula
- Actor
Best known for providing the voice over of Peter in the American Nickelodeon children's TV Series Peter Rabbit for its first season, Colin DePaula was born in L.A. on April 29th, 1999, but moved to New York when he was 4 years old. His father Peter DePaula starred in the touring company of Doug Henning's Broadway musical" The Magic Show". His mother is an awards-nominated stage and voiceover actress known as Noelle McGrath.
Colin is also known for his collaborations with fellow American child actress Michaela Dean, such as in the English dub version of Mai Mai Miracle, the first season of Nickelodeon's Peter Rabbit, and one episode of Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot.
Colin is a huge fan of playwright Martin McDonagh, especially his film IN BRUGES with actors Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell.
Colin's acting career started with voicing the character of Shiro in the English dub version of the Japanese animated film Mai Mai Miracle. His mother coached him into several leading roles onstage. These included the title role in OLIVER!, (NCT, Brooklyn,), a Best Actor Award for multiple roles in MUTTI'S AFTER SUPPER STORIES at the 2009 NY Fringe Festival, the title role in the Christmas opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" on December 17, 2010, (Transfiguration Concert Series, Manhattan), and landing the role of Gavroche in the 25th Anniversary National Tour of LES MISERABLES in 2011. He followed this well-reviewed tour on stage by voicing the role of Peter in Nickelodeon's Peter Rabbit, and has performed in several other professional projects as well, most notably English dubs of anime.
On November 3, 2012, Colin voiced a special guest character named Aiden on the children's TV Series Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot, with Michaela Dean co-starring as one of the main character bears. In December 2012, Colin and Michaela joined forces once more, voicing two of the three main protagonists on Nickelodeon's Peter Rabbit, throughout the first season. However, Colin, along with the other talented voice actors who voiced Peter's family (Stephanie Sheh, Megan Taylor Hayvey and Jenna Iacono) were all re-cast. He voiced a character (Tolle Koenig) in the 2017 re-dub of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny. In 2015 he studied the acting technique pioneered by William H. Macy and David Mamet; Practical Aesthetics, at the Atlantic Theatre Company. He also participated in an Irish Dialect Intensive at T. Schreiber Studios, taught by sought-after Dialect Coach Page Clements. He grew as an actor and as a young man in these wonderful, challenging seminars, and continues his acting study with various coaches and programs. He has tested well for many projects, series, etc.. and has performed English dubbed anime, most notably his cameo appearance in the 2017 anime Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny. He is also a talented singer. Colin is currently studying acting and pursuing his stage, film and voiceover career.
