The summer staple So You Think You Can Dance has delighted viewers since its debut on Fox in 2005. Many talented young dancers have jumpstarted their careers on the reality TV show.

Seeing the winner who takes it all home is the most anticipated event of every season. Over the years, it’s been interesting to see what the winners accomplished. So, let’s talk about the So You Think You Can Dance winners and see who outdanced the rest and what they won.

“So You Think You Can Dance” is about to start its live shows next Monday, August 12. The judges have picked the top 10 contestants who will compete for America’s votes, but just because they’re the judges’ favorites doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be America’s favorites. So who do you think has the early advantage? Let us know here in our predictions center, where you can also forecast who you think will be the first contestant eliminated from the show on August 19.

The five women in contention are Madison Jordan (specialist in contemporary dance), Anna Linstruth (hip-hop), Sophie Pittman (contemporary), Mariah Russell (contemporary) and Stephanie Sosa (ballroom).

Then the judges picked five young men to join them: Benjamin Castro (contemporary), Gino Cosculluela (contemporary), Eddie Hoyt (tap), Bailey Munoz (b-boy) and Ezra Sosa.

In a brand new element on the hit competition series So You Think You Can Dance, pop and R&B phenom Justin Bieber and his choreographer, Nick DeMoura, will introduce top dance crews from across the country that will vie for a spot on the season finale. Beginning this week on the two-hour season premiere, airing today, Wednesday, May 28 (8:00-10:00 Pm Et/Pt) on Fox, Bieber and DeMoura will showcase two dance crews on each of the four audition episodes. After the crews are showcased, hash tags will be revealed that viewers can use to tweet their favorite of the two crews. Brennan can't dance. Not unless it's a dream sequence anyway. For all her many fine qualities, we learn in "The Diamond in the Rough" that Dr. Temperance Brennan of "Bones" is a rotten dancer.

Fortunately, she's much better at solving crimes.

The crime

Thanks to Sweets (John Francis Daley) being obsessed with late-night reality garbage, the team gets hold of a strange skeleton encrusted with crystals. It turns out that the murder victim was a dancer named Katerina Wurz (played by "So You Think You Can Dance" season 9 winner Eliana Girard).

Katerina and her partner Kendrick (Dmitry Chaplin) were up-and-coming dancers in a televised competition, and it soon becomes clear that this competition is the only motive for murder. In order to catch a killer, someone has to dance.

Undercover with Buck and Wanda

Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) quickly head undercover, using their favorite aliases of Buck and Wanda Moosejaw.

"Bones" will return from its winter hiatus with a bang. Not a literal bang, of course (probably, unless there's a murder victim who gets shot), but figuratively speaking the return will represent a big night for the show. There will be two episodes -- "The Diamond in the Rough" and "The Archaeologist in the Cocoon" -- aired back-to-back on Monday (Jan. 7).

What can we expect? A video promoting the episodes may have some clues.

Granted, the video does focus primarily on the first of the two episodes, "The Diamond in the Rough." In this episode, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) head undercover -- as Buck and Wanda Moosejaw! -- to a dance competition in order to find their murderer. Guest stars from the real dance competition world (including Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio, Dmitry Chaplin and Eliana Girard of "So You Think You Can Dance" will appear) help make...

Bones returns with Two new episodes back-to-back on Monday, January 14.

In the first hour, Fox pulls a little cross-promotion with So You Think You Can Dance as the team goes undercover to solve the weekly murder - and dance champs Eliana Girard and Dmitry Chaplin guest star.

In "The Diamond in the Rough," Booth and Brennan reprise their classic aliases Buck and Wanda Moosejaw at a ballroom dancing TV competition. The two Sytycd pros are some of their stiff competition.

Fortunately, it looks like B&B may be able to hang rather convincingly:

If nothing else, it'll be worth it to see David Boreanaz put on hairspray.

Also, Hodgins and Angela's expressions sum things up marvelously.

Cross-show synergy. That's what it's all about these days. It makes sense then that "Bones" would team up with "So You Think You Can Dance" when the Jeffersonian team has to go undercover in order to solve a murder.

But can the detectives dance? Photos released from the episode indicate that they may indeed have some skills on the dance floor.

In "The Diamond in the Rough," Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) go undercover -- as Buck and Wanda Moosejaw, of course -- at a ballroom dancing TV competition.

Their competitors are impressive to say the least -- two of them are played by "Sytycd" alumni Eliana Girard (season 9) and Dmitry Chaplin (season 3).

This does not intimidate Buck and Wanda when they go to sign up though.

As anyone who watches ballroom-dancing competitions knows, part of the deal involves getting dressed up. This applies to men as well as women.

Chehon Wespi-Tschopp was well aware that most of his ballet-world contemporaries would think him crazy for abandoning a lead role in the touring production of Twyla Tharp’s Come Fly Away for a chance to audition for So You Think You Can Dance, but he saw it a different way.

“I’m the type of person who never wants to become complacent. Whatever I do, I always want to keep pushing myself and keep growing,” says the the Swiss-raised 23-year-old. “Sometimes you have to take a small step backwards before you can really grow.”

So You Think You Can Dance‘s Season 9 co-champion Eliana Girard says that her decision to quit a steady job as an aerialist with Cirque du Soleil and audition for a reality competition was the best choice she’s ever made, but by far the scariest. “I had been with Cirque for almost three years, and it was amazing because it felt like home. As we count the minutes until Eliana Girard or Tiffany Maher and Cyrus "Glitch" Spencer or Chehon Wespi-Tschopp are crowned "America's Favorite Dancer" on tonight's season finale of "So You Think You Can Dance," we thought it might be nice to pass the time in style.

And, by style, we mean all kinds of dance styles in all kinds of movies.

Some of our favorite all-stars and other "Sytycd" contestants have landed on the big screen over the years, and we're sure hoping some of the Season 9 gang will soon join them.

The Top 4 contestants on So You Think You Can Dance have performed for the final time in a bid for this year's top spot. First the good news: "So You Think You Can Dance" has its final four dancers. Tiffany Maher, Eliana Girard, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Cyrus Spencer will all vie for America's votes in next Tuesday's (Sept. 11) performance finale.

The bad news: Witney Carson and Cole Horibe were automatically eliminated after receiving the fewest votes.

Even though America decided their fate after last week's performance show, each contestant had to perform three dances tonight: solo, paired with an All-Star and paired with a fellow finalist.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson — “weird and creepy and not a stalker,” he swears — just loves to come back and be a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance. The So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars returned to dance with the Top 10 contestants Wednesday night — and look who we have here! Season 7 standout Alex Freaking Wong, who exited early because of an Achilles tendon injury and had to sit out last summer, after being invited back as an All-Star, because he’d hurt the Other Achilles tendon. I would guess that Alex Wong’s abs positively loathe his Achilles tendons for denying them their rightful opportunity to glisten on national television whenever possible.

Heading into last night’s Mia Michaels tribute episode of So You Think You Can Dance, I was a little worried the judges would get so caught up in praising new renditions of the choreographer’s seven most memorable routines that their actual critiques would be reduced into something of a “You get a gold star!
