As an award-winning Executive Producer and Director for short and long-form projects, Fernando's experience covers the whole value chain of film production, in different contexts - always in search of a genuine balance between creative budgets and craft / artistic value
Based in Los Angeles since 2014, he holds two Master's degrees in Cinema and one MBA in marketing. He has been leading teams on challenging endeavors - more than 20 film productions between Long and Short films; commercial, fictions and documentaries, from the creative and strategic aspects of content management (research, writing/scripting, production strategy) to executive production (budgeting, financing, negotiating and selling) and hands-on production (high-quality posts and deliverable).
In 2013, his film The Tuner (O Afinador, Brazil 2012/13) premiered in Orizzonti at the 69th Venice Film Festival as the only Brazilian film in the competition. Nominated for the Venice Horizons Youtube Award, it received the CANAL+/France Acquisition Award at Curta Cinema (RJ) 2013, the Jury Honorable Mention at the Havana Film Festival 2013 and at the Los Angeles Film Festival 2013, was nominated for the Golden Firebird Award at the Hong Kong International Film Festival 2013 and was selected by over 40 festivals worldwide, such as Toulouse, Tiradentes, Boston, Melbourne, Aspen, FicViña and Huelva, and institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Yale University, Instituto Moreira Salles and the Uruguayan Cinematheque. My latest short film, Ruby (the US, 2017/18), received more than 11 nominations and won 6 awards in important festivals in California, New York, and Brazil.
