In 2010, Ryan landed his debut feature film lead role alongside punk icon Henry Rollins in the thriller In The House of Flies (TUBI). His performance was lauded by Hollywood Reporter: "Newcomer Kotack deliver admirably lived-in performances that make fully convincing their characters' growing sense of despair" and praised by Ain't It Cool News:

Alongside critical praise and international spotlight, Ryan's performance was awarded Best Actor in the inaugural Blood in the Snow Film Festival (2012). Ryan also received Best Actor Nomination in British Horror Film Festival (2013).
