Nick Norton is a music editor, sound artist, and composer/producer from Los Angeles. He came of age playing in punk and hardcore bands while receiving classical training in the school band and choir, went to college (and graduate school, and more of it) for avant-garde classical composition, and learned a ton about music and sound technology along the way.
After earning his PhD, Nick taught music theory, music tech, and songwriting at a few universities, and ran a small high fidelity live sound company up until the pandemic. With live events shut down, he transitioned to post production music and sound by taking courses for a certificate in digital audio post production from Santa Monica College and getting hired as an assistant music editor. He loves both editorial and mixing, for both sound and music, and still dives back into live sound whenever he gets the chance.
As a composer, Nick enjoys making use of his production skills in his writing, playing the studio as an instrument. His debut album Music For Sunsets was released via People Places Records in 2023.
