Born and raised in New England (Swampscott, Massachusetts) Jim is used to swimming in very cold ocean water. His family later lived on Rocky Pond in Gilmanton, New Hampshire near Lake Winnipesaukee which is warmer.
A long-time NYC resident, Jim is the ultimate "big city, small town Yankee", and has no plan on changing.
