We don't have to worry about Young Sheldon being cancelled by CBS since it's already been renewed for seasons six and seven. Given what we already know about Sheldon Cooper's young life, it seems likely those will be the final seasons. Still, if the ratings are strong enough, perhaps the show could continue and follow the boy genius to CalTech. Stay tuned.

Alright, let’s admit it, it’s a constant formula to any romcom that’s out there. But the fact that Slow Learners relies more on the comedic side than the romantic one is a bit of a relief, considering just how overdone it already is.
Directed by Don Argott and Sheena Joyce and written by Matt Serwood, Slow Learners introduces us to Jeff Lowry (played by Adam Pally) and Anne Martin (played by Sarah Burns), who are two teachers who just can’t find love. Breakup at a Wedding shows Vic (actually director Victor Quinaz) as he captures the events that happen around the wedding between Phil Havemeyer (Philip Quinaz) and Alison Jones (Alison Fyhrie). Being the type of videographer that goes super in depth, Vic captures everything, including Alison having a massive panic attack and telling Phil in supposed privacy that she wanted out; she couldn’t go through with the wedding. Together, they decide to have the wedding anyway but not sign the marriage contract, so that everyone thinks they’re married why legally they’re not. However, Phil is more than reluctant about this, and hatches a plan to end up married.

Phil is more than game to try, secretly hoping that a surprise gift he has for Alison will ultimately change her mind. Yet once the guests begin to arrive, more complications ensue than either of them could have ever imagined - even if they did know their wedding was bullshit. Fox's "The Mindy Project" keeps getting better over the course of its first season, blending laugh-out-loud hilarity with increasingly rich character portraits and perfectly chosen guest stars.
With just six episodes left, we caught up with the cast at the show's recent PaleyFest event and asked them to spill a few details about what's to come -- including what to expect from upcoming guests Chloe Sevigny as Danny's ex-wife and Anders Holm ("Workaholics") as Mindy's newest boyfriend.
Showrunner Matt Warburton explains the master plan: "The second half of the season we've been really emphasizing digging into where [these characters] come from. We met Mindy's brother, we're gonna meet a friend from Danny's past and we're gonna meet Danny's ex-wife -- the biggest mystery of all. That's been a theme of the second half of the season. These people who we've grown to love in the first half of the season -- looking...

"The Mindy Project" continues to be a work in progress in its first season on Fox.
After last month's news that Anna Camp (Gwen) will transition from regular to recurring cast member and Amanda Setton (Shauna) will be leaving the show, "Mindy" has lost another character but gained two more.
Character actor Stephen Tobolowsky was written out of the show in last week's episode, "Two To One," when his rarely seen character Dr. Shulman abruptly decided to leave his practice and turn over management to Mindy (Mindy Kaling), Danny (Chris Messina) and Jeremy (Ed Weeks).
Dr. Shulman was played by "West Wing" star Richard Schiff in the original pilot, and seemed positioned to be a key part of the series. But after Tobolowsky replaced Schiff in the pilot, he only appeared in one subsequent episode -- October's "Hiring and Firing" -- before his own departure.

The Mindy Project is both un-firing and promoting a character in one fell swoop.
Beth Grant, who plays the defiant and cranky Nurse Beverly on Fox’s freshman sitcom, has been upped to a series regular, TVLine has confirmed.
Much of this season’s second episode — the only one in which the character appeared — revolved around Beverly’s imminent firing. (Among her workplace offenses: stealing vials of blood and punching her boss.)
It’s not clear what brings Nurse Ratched back into the fold or when exactly she’ll reappear.

Mary Grill is set to pal around on The Mindy Project.
The Upright Citizens Brigade alum will portray Maggie, a friend of Mindy's from college whose attitude makes many believe she's a lesbian... when she's actually very much the opposite, hooking up with men all over the place.
Look for her to move into Mindy's apartment building.
Grill will join the The Mindy Project Season 1 cast just as Amanda Setton and Stephen Tobolowsky are departing and just as TV Fanatic favorite Anna Camp is being downgraded to recurring status.

Another "Firefly" reunion is happening: Gina Torres is joining Nathan Fillion on "Castle" at last!
According to TVLine, Torres is headed to the ABC drama as Samantha Foster, a "ruthless fashion mogul." Mary Grill has landed the major new role on Fox’s freshman comedy series The Mindy Project. Grill, a Second City Chicago alum and a founding member of the NY sketch group New Excitement, will play the recurring role of Maggie, a tomboyish college friend of Mindy’s (creator and star Mindy Kaling). The introduction of the character is part of a creative overhaul of the show midway through its freshman season, which includes the elimination of a character, played by regular Amanda Setton, and the downgrade of another one, played by Anna Camp, from regular to recurring. Additionally, Stephen Tobolowsky’s recurring character was written off. Grill, repped by Vincent Nastri of Bleecker Street Entertainment, recently appeared on Boardwalk Empire and has upcoming guest stints on Whitney and Don’t Trust the B in Apt.23. Ryan Lee (Super 8) has joined the cast of ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot Trophy Wife.
