Ekaete Obot Bailey

An unwavering and passionate pursuit of art has defined Ekaete Bailey's life. Born in Western New York to a white American mother and a Nigerian father, Ekaete grew up as one of only a handful of black and brown children in her neighborhood. The experience of being the "only" in so many settings shaped her life and career pursuits.

Ekaete is intrigued by history, historical fiction and stories that magnify the voices of those who are not always heard. Her acting, writing, and producing seeks to provide beauty, clarity and further development of those fascinating characters and untold stories.
