Sarah Wilson Thacker is a writer & director from Tampa, Florida whose work has garnered numerous awards including the Student Emmy Award and the ASC Student Heritage Award. She executive produced and directed a half hour drama pilot for the PlayStation Emerging Filmmakers Program, The Many Lives of Ayn Winters, and previously directed two short films for Google's Infinite Deviation diversity in tech initiative. Her music video work includes pieces for The Brevet and KEZAR, while her branded content work includes campaigns for Ceasars Palace and the Tony award-winning Broadway musical An American in Paris.
A directing MFA recipient from Chapman University, Sarah was closely mentored by directors Martha Coolidge and Andrew Lane, and also participated in the highly competitive filmmaker-in-residence program where she was mentored by screenwriter Leslie Dixon. Sarah previously assisted writer/director Nancy Meyers, Academy Award Winning producer Michael Phillips, agent/producer Harry Ufland, and shadowed director Melanie Mayron on the CW's Jane the Virgin. Sarah is a CDDP program finalist, a Viacom Viewfinder Finalist, Shondaland/Series Fest Mentorship semi-finalist, and a Women in Film Mentoring Program Fellow. Her feature length coming-of-age romance, Freeze Dance, was a finalist for the 2019 Sundance Creative Producing Lab. She is represented by Nelson Davis Law.
