Michael Allmon was born to parents Rev. Boliver Allmon j.r. and Karen
Allmon. He has 3 siblings: Boliver Allmon III, Sam Allmon, and Tina
Allmon. He grew up in church where he and his mother did short
religious plays and skits. Once in high school he auditioned for a
school play, was given a part, and received an award for acting in the
One Act Play competition. The next year he auditioned but was not cast
in the play Antic Spring. After high
school Michael would continue to act in college by taking acting
classes under Molly Vernon, but not in any productions for the school.
Michael then found an ad for an improv group and started going on a
weekly basis. (this is where he befriended actor Shaun Cobbs) One night
a man named Loren Gilley came to Michael about a part in his A.F.I.
entry film. And after working with Loren on this film and others
Michael found a desire for film making instead of just acting. Since
then Michael has directed many shorts and won awards such as best
cinematography, Honorable Mention Best Editing, 3rd Place overall in
both 48 Hour Film Fest and Splatter Fest.
