Kathryn Gallagher is a Grammy Award-winning actress and singer-songwriter, best known for her work on stage and screen. In 2021, she won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for her role in the Broadway musical "Jagged Little Pill" inspired by Alan's Morissette and written by Diablo Cody. Her powerful performance in the show also earned her a 2020 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, where she portrayed Bella Fox, a character navigating trauma and self-discovery.
Most recently, Kathryn plays crucial supporting role the TIFF hit Woman of the Hour (2023) directed by Anna Kendrick. Additionally, she is seen in Alex Ross Perry's biopic/documentary hybrid film about the band Pavements (2024).
Kathryn made her Broadway debut as the voice of 'Martha' in Deaf West's production of Spring Awakening. She is also a talented singer/songwriter, with her music having had placements in film/TV such as Younger (2015), Covert Affairs (2010), and Stuart Blumberg's Thanks for Sharing (2012). She also had three original songs in the feature "Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You", directed by Roberto Faenza and produced by Elda Ferri, who produced "Life is Beautiful." Her song "Mess of a Machine" appears on John O'Callaghan's album "Unfold," released April 2011.
In the television space, Gallagher can most recently be seen in a recurring role on HBO Max show Gossip Girl (2021). She also is featured in Andrew Rannells's episode of Amazon's Modern Love (2019). Previous television work includes the fan-favorite role of 'Annika Atwater' in Season 2 of Netflix's You (2018), and a nice recurring arc on The CW's The Flash (2014).
