A mockumentary set in the near-future where the world’s fuel and electricity has run out has won a competition to shoot a film in 48 hours.
Electric Dreams follows twenty-something Eric who, excited by stories of the way things were, discovers a map to Science Town where electricity is believed to be made, but must somehow get his old old Volvo there to convert it.
The film, which won at the the 48 Hour Eco-Film Challenge, was produced by Team Oh; Ben McNamara, Matthew Cleaves and Kathleen Lee.
It won the $5,000 first prize and will be screened at Cannes International Film Festival.
The festival is a joint venture between the 48 Hour Festival inc and the FilmMakers Australia. It runs various challenges throughout the year including an open themed challenge which this year was won by a team of creatives from the Seven network, for a film called ‘A Little Bit Behind...
