Mike Newport is an award winning film composer based in Auckland, New Zealand.
He has written the music for a wide range of productions from festival hit comedy 'Mega Time Squad', to gritty US drama 'Shooting Heroin' and thriller series 'Alibi'. His music has featured in trailer spots for 'Pirates of the Caribbean', Netflix Original 'Altered Carbon' and 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' amongst many others.
Mike loves collaborating closely with directors, and helping bring stories to life through the score.
He is very experienced with working remotely for clients around the globe, and is always happy to discuss the best workflow for individual projects.
Mike has won the APRA Silver Scroll Award for Best Original Music in a Feature Film. Other nominations include APRA Best Music in a Series, and NZTV Craft Awards.
