Here’s something different: Damien Chazelle, the acclaimed director behind “Whiplash” and “La La Land,” has released a short film shot entirely in vertical display on an iPhone.

Titled “The Stunt Double,” the short film stars Tom McComas as the eponymous stunt double — McComas is a professional stunt performer whose credits range from “The Dark Knight” and “Euphoria” to “Sonic the Hedgehog” — whose life flashes before his eyes during an especially outlandish scene. The film opens with McComas performing in some sort of action movie where he flees from a gun-toting duo by jumping off of a tall building. When his parachute fails, McComas closes his eyes and reminisces about the various films he’s performed stunts in.

"The film has not done well. The opening weekend has made between Rs.1.25 crore and Rs.1.5 crore. The concept was very different and didn't get accepted. The hero and heroine meet only at the end of the film, which is something that the traditional audience will not accept," trade analyst Komal Nahta told Ians.

Abhay Deol & Preeti Desai have been promoting their latest movie One by Two as a young urban Mumbai movie. For this, what would be a better place than a college festival where they get an opportunity to interact one on one with the young crowd.

They continued this trend when visiting Iginsense, the annual management and cultural fest of Symbiosis Institute of International Business.

Abhay was part of a panel discussion involving the students in the packed college auditorium. The discussion mainly revolved around the new wave in Indian cinema and actors turning into producers. Abhay enlightened the budding leaders of the country with his take on these topics and the various related steps he has taken in his career. Bollywood actor-producer Abhay Deol’s i.e. Films is joining forces with Colin Burrows UK-based Special Treats Productions to co-produce Bounty Hunter.

Deol will star in the UK-set thriller to be directed by brothers Sunandan and Yugesh Walia, who will also co-produce through their UK-based production company Endboard Productions.

The producers aim to raise half of the project’s financing from the UK and are currently seeking Indian partners for the remaining 50%.

“We were going to make the film in English but we are now considering making it in Hindi,” Burrows said. “We are in talks with UK funding sources and also looking for an equal Indian partner with the vision to do a Hindi-language British thriller headlining a Bollywood star.”

Abhay Deol has denied that he is responsible for pushing his girlfriend Preeti Desai's career in Bollywood. The British-born actress has been given a cameo in the zombie romantic comedy Rock the Shaadi.
