- Actress
Chandler Gregoire is a multiracial, New York based actress. She was born in Berkeley, California to Linda Chandler and Stafford Gregoire, both of whom are English Literature Professors. Chandler lived in Berkeley, California until age 10, when her and her family moved to Queens, NY. At the age of 13 Chandler started to work professionally, booking the role of Janis in Loredana Gasparotto's Tainted. At 14, Chandler was admitted to the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music & Art and the Performing Arts.
While at LaGuardia, Chandler originated a role in the immersive Halloween theater experience Hotel Savoy, a critics pick for Backstage Magazine. Chandler also began voiceover work, as Cloetta Spelletta in the Bratz doll series Bratzillaz and for several commercials and educational services. In 2013, Chandler graduated from LaGuardia with a Drama Degree, and that fall she began attending Yale University.
While at Yale University, Chandler pursued another passion of hers: sailing. She was a member of the Varsity Sailing Team and helped her team win several National Championships. Chandler was named an All American Athlete Honorable Mention, All Academic Athlete, and All NEISA Second Team Crew. She competed for the US in several international regattas including the 2017 BUSA Tour, the 2017, 2016, and 2015 Laser Performance Collegiate Cup, and the 2014 Etchells World Championship.
Chandler graduated from Yale in 2017, leaving a legacy of not only sailing but also several institutional changes created to support Yale's multiracial student population. After extensive training at Yale and LaGuardia, Chandler was thrilled to find herself back in New York. Since returning to New York, Chandler has performed in several plays (The Last Jew of Boyle Heights, Sunnyside Impressions, the One Minute Play Festival at INTAR Theatre) and as the lead in the several independent films (Vedic Nights by The Grapevine, iParent by Room 1209 Productions).
