Sam C. Martin
- Actor
Sam Martin was born into a family of artists: dancers, musicians, and
singers. From a young age, he was deeply connected to acting and music.
He got his first lead in his 8th grade production of Arsenic and Old
Lace playing the Cary Grant character, Mortimer. Throughout high school
Sam was active in theater, especially in musicals, playing Marius in
Les Miserables and the title character in Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat. In college Sam has plunged more deeply into
theatre and film acting, playing lead roles in Ionesco's Bald Soprano,
Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters, and Chekhov's The Bear, receiving
very positive reviews in the Santa Barbara News-Press, and even being
nominated to compete in an acting competition in LA for his work in The
Servant of Two Masters. Sam has had lead roles in various feature
films, playing the fallen-from-grace bully, Joey, in Spartan Studio's
Always Learning and the college-aged farm boy, Brett, in Emerging
Artist's sci-fi thriller Dark Harvest. Sam has also acted in various
short films, commercials, music videos, documentaries and PSAs.
Throughout, Sam's work achieves an emotional authenticity that
translates through the screen to the audience.
Sam is currently studying theatre acting at Westmont College and film acting, sound design, the film industry and casting at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center. Aside from acting, Sam plays guitar and sings in an electronic-pop band.
