Actor, leader Nelson Irizarry was born in New York of Puerto Rican
descent and moved to Baltimore to fulfill his dreams. Performing in
school plays sparked his interest in acting, but the realization came
when he began performing in music videos, and independent films. Nelson
then realized that he enjoyed, and loved being in front of the camera,
experiencing other characters of life. Although he wasn't new to the
entertainment industry, Nelson has opened up to wide ranges of his
career in acting. Nelson also made his acting debut, when he casted a
lead role in Charm City, an independent dramatic series that went
across the country, directed by Derrick Thomas. Nelson role has been a
breakthrough for him, placing him in the spotlight and giving him
exposure that lead him to further success. Nelson believes that he is
already reaping the benefits, as he has already received numerous
interviews and offers for upcoming productions since his performance in
Charm City. Being a part of Charm City and getting the opportunity to
act is "fulfilling a dream" for Nelson, and he intends to use every
role as a learning experience. Nelson has been on a rise in his career
as he prepared to help launch others dreams in film as he appeared as
an actor in All in the Game, Time Bomb, Senior Cut Day, and Runner just
to name a few. Nelson has also made Baltimores newspaper The Examiner
as an leader for the youth against crime and violence. Nelson's
approach to acting is to be "focus on the part at hand and become the
characters that he has played and playing in the future". Nelson hopes
to bring his unique interpretation to every role, and he hopes to gain
an abundance of experience by doing more films cause this is what he
wants and has a passion for.
