Matt Berlin is a producer, writer, actor, musician, and tech executive. His first foray into the creative industry was as a musician and alumnus of Hollywood's Musicians Institute, where he studied under the likes of Joe Porcaro, Howard Roberts, and Jeff Berlin (no relation). He founded Cydonia Records as an online business in 1997 to sell his own music, and it quickly grew into a full-service indie label with distribution throughout the US, Asia, and Europe.
A life-long student of theater, Matt acted in numerous stage productions and independent films over a 20-year span. He also appeared in the feature films Did You Hear About The Morgans?, Biomass, and MacGruber and enjoyed a multi-episode run on the landmark AMC series Breaking Bad.
As a writer and producer, Matt helped launch two unscripted series- Off The Vine and Adventures On The Fly!- and brought two feature films to market: Wood Witch: The Awakening for Amazon Prime and Crossed Lines, an action film (which he also scored) that debuted at the Cannes Marché du Film in Spring 2017. Later that year, he co-founded One Hill Entertainment with his wife Christina to serve as a home for several projects including Grace, a sci fi series in development with Monolith Studios in Nairobi, Kenya; Masaku, a AAA game in development with Pan-African games publisher LudiqueWorks; and The Long Way Home, a feature film based on the book Cathy Williams, Buffalo Soldier in development with Edmonds Entertainment.
Matt's work as tech executive has been interwoven throughout his creative life. After selling Cydonia Records to the Paris-based Musea in 2001, he has worked as advisor to numerous creative tech start-ups including Xilam Studios, MotionLabs, and Monolith Studios. In 2016, he founded Atamiza Partners to collaborate with multi-national companies such as Epic Games, Unity, Adobe, Gearbox Entertainment, and Autodesk to extend educational programs and adoption of creative industry technologies-with an emphasis on virtual production and video game development-across the US and East Africa.
