Vasiliy Strelnikov is a Soviet and Russian radio and television presenter, podcast, VJ and the voice of MTV Russia TV channels (from 1998 to 2002) and REN TV (from 2004 to 2013).
Vasiliy grew up in Chevy Chase (Maryland, USA). In 1975 he moved to the USSR. In 1979, he graduated from working youth school No. 127. He began his career as a radio host in 1980, gaining a place as an English-speaking announcer in the Radio Moscow World Service. Best known as the host of the program "At the request of listeners," one of the most popular programs on the air, which, thanks to its informal approach, contrasted with the rest of the programs. The peak of Vasiliy's popularity fell on his morning TV show "Weekend Caprice".
In the 1980s and 1990s, he worked at the Sovexportfilm film studio, dubbing and voicing Soviet films and cartoons into English (Mr. Pronka (1991)), and also was a regular participant in the Follow me series in the English language television training program in conjunction with BBC production. During 2006, Vasily was the host of the TV program Brains: Violence against Science, the Russian version of Brainiac: Science Abuse on REN TV, and on the same TV channel from 2006 to 2007, he broadcast a similar program in the genre of the game Big Brains.
