Marcela Alvarez

Marcela Alvarez is a chamaleon actress, was born and raised in Medellín, Colombia. As a child she showed a special interest for aesthetics and fashion so she became a model and did a bachelor's degree in graphic design (2003). After she graduated she moved to Mexico City where at the same time as she did TV commercials and advertising campaigns, she took classes of theater in Casa Azul (2008), she studied "The Method Acting Technique" with René Pereyra and voice and accent with Israel Martinez. Later on she took master classes with Fernando Piernas and Ignacio Guadalupe (2010-2023). She also took Castellano voice and accent classes with Raquel Carballo and a master Class with Guillermo Cacace, both of them in Spain (2018-2020)
She soon was cast in "El Pantera" (2009) and had a regular role in "Cloroformo" (2012) directed by Gustavo Loza. Later on, she was founder and actress on a small Theater Company doing several plays for MicroTeatro Mexico, one of those "El Cofre", won Best Play at the Association of Critics and Theater Journalist Awards (2013).
She got to play Maria, co-star in a Sony Pictures TV serie "el Mariachi" (2014) based on Robert Rodríguez original film. She participated in different TV series such as "Señora Acero II" (2015), "Hasta que te conocí" (2016); in Films such as "Colosio, el asesinato" by Carlos Bolado and "Como matar a un esposo muerto" by Conrado Martinez (2017).
In Gary Alazraki's "Club de Cuervos/ Club of Crows" (2015-2019) Netflix's first original series in spanish , Marcela plays Julieta, the co-star love interest. She also played Julieta in Club de Cuervos's Spin Off, the TV Movie "Yo, Potro" (2018), also a Netflix's original product directed by Marcos Bucay.
She plays Rosaura Vidal in her most recent work, an Amazon prime miniserie named ¿Quien lo mato? (2024)
Marcela currently resides in Mexico, and she still keeping her interest in the fashion Industry from the sustainable point of View.
