Coin Toss is Satya Kharkar's debut feature film as a director. Coin
Toss has won the "Audience Favorite Debut Film Award" at the 11 th
International Route 66 film festival at Springfield, Illinois. Satya's
other notable directorial credits include short films "D.W.T." (Driving
While Texting) made in public interest for encouraging people not to
text while driving, an award winning mini short "My Dad, My Hero" - a
finalist under two categories Audience Favorite and Best Short Film at
the "2011 Life Fest Film Festival" in Los Angele's. Marathi (An Indian
language) Short film "Welcome to Chicago" is yet another of Satya's
significant directorial achievements. It was a heart warming video
invitation made for an Indian community convention held at Chicago's
McCormick place in 2011.For this voluntary community effort Satya and
his team brought together around forty Chicago artists mostly amateur,
ages ranging from 7 to 70 years and made them sing, write, act, and
compose music to make this beautiful short film invitation. Satya was
directors assistant for the theater adaptation of popular TV series
M*A*S*H* presented by the Elgin Theater company in 2010. Recently Satya
completed a documentary in an Indian language(Marathi) about a young
person who has won India's one of the prestigious award in 2005 for his
creative writings despite of suffering from cerebral palsy. Indian news
media has appreciated the documentary effort. Satya hope's that Coin Toss will continue making a place in its viewer's heart and he could
make more such entertaining films through Satya's production company
Anmol Movies.
