Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Maurice Winsell comes from an Italian, Swiss and Spanish heritage.
His mother and father would later move the family to Mission, South Dakota where he lived next to the Lakota Sioux Reservation as his father was the Director of the Library at Sinte Gleska University.
While there, Maurice attended Todd County Elementary and Middle School where he was involved in school plays that would be the catalyst for his acting passion. He also learned the piano and would take part in state wide singing competitions bringing home awards in the process.
His family would later move to the Southeast part of the United States (Georgia and Alabama) where he found more success in school and community theater projects.
After graduating from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Creative Writing, he went off to Chicago and took Improv for the Actor at the legendary, Second City.
He returned to Atlanta, and signed with Classic Talent Agency. Since then, he has appeared in commercials and has credits such as "A Friend of the Family," "Missing Pieces," and the independent college hit "Tick,Tock."
The energetic range Maurice has allows him the ability to throw himself into the reality and absurdity of the scene to find the right balance.
Maurice is also a writer, and is developing a sketch show series, an anthology series, a short film and a feature length film.
He is engaged to Melissa Murner and together they live with their children in the Cartersville, Georgia area.
