Lianne Mackessy is a Sydney based actor, writer and director. She grew up in country NSW, born to an Irish father and an Australian mother. After graduating drama school, Lianne went on to complete her undergraduate studies in screenwriting at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in 2016. Lianne's acting credits include Australian television series Love Child, Home and Away and Wonderland, and George Miller's feature film, Three Thousand Years of Longing. Lianne's debut short film 'Not a Wallflower' (writer/director) had its premiere at MIFF in 2020, and in 2021, Lianne was selected to attend the MIFF Accelerator Lab, alongside the most promising emerging directors in Australia. Lianne is credited with writing inclusively made projects with Bus Stop Films, and her work on the award-winning short documentary 'What Was It Like?', along with short film 'Visible', can be seen on ABC iview.
