- Markoesa Hamer (1985) studied acting in London at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and in Amsterdam at the ATKA; Academy of Dramatic Arts & Music Theatre. She was born in the Netherlands to Jim Ennis, an Irish theatre director/actor, and Judith Hamer, a Dutch-Surinamese Modern Dancer. She has a sister, Ciara, who is a journalist and lives in Cardiff Wales UK, and a brother, Finn, who is a guitarist and lives in Manchester UK. Markoesa plays the role of Marlene in the German Netflix original series How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) (2019-2021), and Fleur in the Dutch series Koppensellers (Headhunters) (2020). In 2020 she won the award for Best Actress for her role in the short film Nesteltherapie (Nesting Therapy) (2019) at the International Short Film Festival Middelburg. In 2019 she won Best Actress for her role in the short film Hou Vast (Hold On) at the Tilburg Film Festival (2018). Markoesa starred in movies including Den Helder (Golden Calf 2008 for Best TV Film), Aanmodderfakker (Golden Calf 2014 for Best Film), The Aflossing (2017). She was a regular in the popular Dutch TV series Dokter Deen (2012-2018) and the Comedy Central sketch show Popoz (2013-14) and Popoz the Film (2015). In the UK, Markoesa appeared in the BBC series Holby City (2014), and starred in the short film A Beautiful Death (2012). Markoesa has a daughter and a son with Dutch actor Marijn Klaver.
