Ruth Du is a director, writer and producer who gravitates towards relationship-based stories with a genre twist. Most recently, she directed feature film The Deadliest Lie which premiered on Tubi in the Fall of 2021. Ruth was a 2020 Film Independent Project Involve fellow and directed short film Yugen, starring Christine Ko.
Her vast experience in production early in her career, led her to produce feature film The Archer which premiered at SXSW 2017. She has a passion towards authentic storytelling, producing talent-driven short films in a handful of fellowship programs, including Good Eggs starring Bethany Joy Lenz with ProjectHER and Indigenous Media. As the Executive Director of the 2019 AT&T Mentorship Program with head mentor Lena Waithe, she produced short films such as Spilt Milk starring Dascha Polanco and Postmarked featuring Rob Morgan and Loretta Devine.
Ruth was born in Hangzhou, China, grew up in Portland, Oregon and resides in Los Angeles. She received a B.F.A. at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
