Willow actor and silver screen legend Warwick Davis is not holding back about Disney’s removal of the Willow series. Davis recently took to social media to break his silence about the House of Mouse pulling its Willow series from the streaming platform as part of a broader cost-cutting initiative under Disney CEO Bob Iger.
“I meet lovely people on a daily basis who are fans of #Willow, who are the reason the @DisneyPlus series was made,” Davis wrote on X (formally known as Twitter). “Please tell me @WaltDisneyCo, what do I say to these subscribers when they ask why they can’t watch the series any more? #embarrassing”

The Swarm TV series was produced overseas and was the most expensive German TV production (produced in English) of all time. Unfortunately, expense doesn't always translate into big ratings. The CW is now focusing on airing acquired and low-cost programming and has pulled shows that have drawn low ratings. Even if a second season is made, there's no guarantee that the network will pick it up. Will The Swarm be cancelled or renewed? Stay tuned.

The Swarm, the big-budget series based on the Frank Schätzing best-seller and executive produced by Game of Thrones producer Frank Doelger, has landed with The CW in the U.S..
The deal sees the Beta Film and Zdf Studios thriller headed to American audiences after debuting at the Berlin Film Festival and recently being acquired by Sky for the U.K. and Spain’s Movistar+ channel. The U.S. deal also comes amid the WGA writers strike, when the appeal of foreign TV product for American buyers is expected to grow.
The Swarm chronicles the struggle of humankind against an unknown enemy that lives in the depths of the sea. Just as the reckless treatment of the oceans threatens the natural habitat of this mysterious collective, it strikes back.
The series stars Cécile de France, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Jack Greenlees, Lydia Wilson, Krista Kosonen, Alexander Karim, Leonie Benesch and Barbara Sukowa.

A new adventure began last year on Disney+ with the premiere of “Willow” in November, a TV series adaptation/expansion of Ron Howard‘s 1988 fantasy adventure film. Unfortunately, we’ve learned this afternoon that Disney+ has already cancelled “Willow.” In all likelihood, not enough people tuned into Season 1 to justify the spend for another season.
Deadline reports, “Willow, which picked up years after the events of the film, did not have the zeitgeist cultural impact of the original but was well received by critics, getting a 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. While the series won’t continue, Willow remains an important IP in the Lucasfilm library so it may be revisited in the future.”
Jonathan Kasdan and Wendy Mericle were the showrunners for “Willow.”
“The series introduced all-new characters to the enchanted realm of fairy queens and two-headed Eborsisk monsters, and welcomed back its hero, Willow Ufgood, played once again by Warwick Davis.

Disney’s Star Wars Celebration kicked off in Anaheim today, and the studio hit the ground running. Lucasfilm gave fans their best look so far at “Willow,” an upcoming Disney+ series based on the 1988 film of the same name. The first teaser reveals a return to the lush fantasy world that George Lucas and Ron Howard created in the original film, albeit with slightly more modern special effects.
The film “Willow” was originally conceived by George Lucas, who brought in Bob Dolman to write the screenplay and hired Ron Howard to direct. Expectations were sky-high when the film was released in 1988, with many expecting it to do for fantasy what “Star Wars” did for science fiction. While it never quite reached those heights, the film has gradually built up a cult following over the years.
When Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, rumors about some kind of “Willow” sequel in the pipeline instantly began swirling.

According to Deadline, the latest name to join the continuation of the story begun by George Lucas and Ron Howard in 1988 is Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, who "Game of Thrones" fans will recognize as Tyene Sand, one of the warrior women of Dorne known as "The Sand Snakes." Ashton Kutcher’s unscripted series Going From Broke has been handed a second season by Crackle Plus as the AVOD service unveils its latest slate of originals.
The digital platform is leaning heavily on scripted and non-scripted series from its sister company, Landmark Studio, which was set up by owner Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment and former Idw Entertainment President David Ozer last year.
The slate was announced as part of its NewFronts advertising presentation.
Going From Broke, which the company said has scored 16M views, will return for a second ten-part run in the first quarter of 2021. From executive producer Kutcher, the series sheds light on the national crisis of student debt and offers practical solutions for young people to go from broke. Produced by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, it is hosted by Chegg CEO Dan Rosensweig.
On the scripted side, Crackle Plus has unveiled four originals.

Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) may have moved up in the world, but she seems to have regressed when it comes to her personality. In fact, day by day, she starts to resemble another spoiled and power-hungry despot that we’ve seen on “Game of Thrones” before: Her late son, Joffrey (Jack Gleeson).
This would explain so much, though. While her kids Myrcella and Tommen were kind of sweet (perhaps taking after Jaime, who is a fool for love and shows signs of a conscience), Joffrey was the bad egg, rotten to the core, and without any redeeming qualities. At the time, he had seemed like an anomaly, the twisted result of the DNA lottery that comes with inbreeding. But now that Cersei the Queen Mother has become the sole monarch, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of Westeros, she’s been exhibiting signs that make it clear...

Is it too late to change my bet to Lannister?
Season 7 of Game of Thrones seems to be following a specific pattern. Each episode slowly moves the plot along, before a 10 minute explosive final scene. Last week, we saw Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) utterly annihilate Yara’s (Gemma Whelan) fleet. This week, we saw the Greyjoys utterly annihilate the Unsullied’s fleet, whilst Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) looked on powerlessly. And saw Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) take Highgarden, only to receive the last bitter admission of Lady Olenna (Diana Rigg). All this in the last 5 minutes.
But I’m getting ahead of myself a little. There was plenty more to appreciate here than the final scene of chaos. So we might as well start at the top.
In a moment that fans have wanted since the story began, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) finally meet. And its glorious.

A batch of recent Game of Thrones season 7 set snaps would seem to confirm some plot rumors relating to Theon Greyjoy's evil uncle Euron (Pilou Asbæk) and several of the Dornish characters. The pics surfaced over at Warchers on The Wall, and give us a pretty clear look at Euron and his men leading some very familiar looking prisoners through the rainy streets of King's Landing: Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan), Ellaria (Indira Varma) and Tyene Sand (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers). Those rumors suggested that Euron would be victorious in a massive sea battle that saw "at least one" of The Sand Snakes killed, and the fact that neither Obara (Keisha Castle-Hughes) or Nymeria (Jessica Henwick) are present here could well mean they both fell to pirate swords during the confrontation. Though these characters are very popular in the books, fans of their live-action counterparts are few and far between - so...

The Dinner poses an interesting question, several actually. And I’m not talking about whether to go with red or white wine, wise-acres. It’s an exploration of families, of the dynamic of two adult brothers, their wives and children. Established roles are reversed and secrets are shared as old clashes rise to the surface. The film also gives us two moral options and asks on which (or whose) side would you go. It gives us a lot to mull over as the desert cart wheels toward the table.
The title refers not to a big family feast, but rather an intimate weekly dinner for two couples, the brothers and their wives, in an upscale restaurant in Rome. At least one half of the table never looks forward to this “obligation”. That would be brother Paolo (Luigi Lo Cascio), a busy surgeon who shares a big apartment with his wife...

Ivano de Matteo philosophised with me, first at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and then at the Barbetta Open Roads: New Italian Cinema lunch, about justice, ethics, adapting Herman Koch's novel with screenwriting partner Valentina Ferlan, and how a switch in lighting can make a subliminal difference.
Massimo Lauri (Alessandro Gassman):"I wanted to create an aseptic, cold environment."
I threw Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita, Alfred Hitchcock's Rope, a scene from Paolo Virzi's Human Capital (Il Capitale Umano) with Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and the texture of nightmares into the family circle of his film The Dinner (I Nostri Ragazzi).
Alessandro Gassman, Luigi Lo Cascio, Barbora Bobulova, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, and Jacopo Olmi Antinori form a formidable ensemble where each part can shatter the whole.

The ninth episode of every season of "Game of Thrones" is the one people remember. The last four seasons gave us the fate of Ned Stark (Sean Bean), the Battle of the Blackwater, the Red Wedding, and the Battle of the Wall. For season five, the memorable action-packed episode was delivered early in the form of "Hardhome", but "The Dance of Dragons" features an ending that should find its way into that pantheon. Before that ending, the show has a bit of business to take care of to set up the finale. In Dorne, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Prince Doran (Alexander Siddig) broker an unstable peace. Doran, again, recounts his horrendous experiences with war which serve to highlight why he is, seemingly, willing to do anything to prevent hostilities with King's Landing. He is even willing to let Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free) return with Jaime provided his son, Trystane (Toby Sebastian...

Snow has never been a good thing on "Game of Thrones". This week's episode, sees snow falling, and falling hard, on many of the characters. "Winter is coming" may be the words of House Stark but everyone is starting to realize this is the stark truth. Even as we move south and across the Narrow Sea where it is still a bit too warm to snow, the specter of impending doom shrouds every interaction we see. "The Gift" is an episode that handles its darkness right. For me it doesn't reach the highs of "Kill the Boy" but is a marked improvement over last week's "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken". Let's dive in. We have to start by dealing with the repercussions of the closing moments of last week's episode. Several days have passed and Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) has been assaulting Sansa (Sophie Turner) every night. Bruises are visible all over her...

Underneath all the scandal and shock, Game Of Thrones season 5 is an exquisite exercise in pace and planning...
This review contains spoilers.
5.6 Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
At certain points in a season, all the careful pacing in the world doesn't pay off and you get what I like to call a chess match episode. There's no checkmate, just a lot of pieces moving into place to power the rest of the season. The last two episodes of Game Of Thrones have felt like set-up work, both for good and for ill. Given that Game Of Thrones show gurus Benioff and Weiss know how to pace their season out to prevent slower episodes and to ensure something interesting happens in just about every episode, this is a good sort of chess game, with plenty of eye-catching things happening along the way to keep tongues wagging throughout the Seven Kingdoms.
For a relatively sedate episode,...

Let's start this week's "Game of Thrones" review and recap at the end. The fourth episode of this fifth season is called "The Sons of the Harpy" for a reason and that last action scene delivers, and what makes it stand out in an episode full of them are the stakes. The Sons of the Harpy are stepping up their activities and starting to win the support of the Meereenese people. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is losing her grip on her reign and the increased Sons of the Harpy outbursts are a physical manifestation of this shift. The action also stands out because of its coherence. The editing on many of the other action scenes in this episode are cut together in the seizure inducing, hyper-cut style of most modern action movies. The irony of this one being the clearest action scene is that all but two of the combatants wear masks.

Questions We Want the Answers to After Watching the Game of Thrones Season 5 Trailer
Finally the new trailer has been released and Game of Thrones fans desperate to know what happens next are getting some clues. But wait, this teaser seems to raise more questions than it answers! If you’ve been reading the books at the same time you might have more ideas than the rest of us, but since the series has already significantly diverged from them already we wouldn’t bet that you book worms have all the answers. So mainly, what we want to know is:
What about the new characters?
We nearly wet ourselves when nine new characters were announced at Comic-Con 2014. Fans expected that the trailer would be feature new blood, and we were eager to spot Jonathan Pryce, Alexander Siddig, Toby Sebastian, Keisha Castle-Hughes, DeObia Oparei, Myrcella Baratheon,...

Starks, Lannisters, Dorne, The Iron Islands... here's everything we know so far about Game Of Thrones season 5...
Warning: contains spoilers for Game Of Thrones season 4 and A Song Of Ice And Fire.
Another New Year has come with 2015 - a calendar question mark that sparkles with new possibilities, hopes dreams, and endless optimism for a future not yet written.
But all we can say is: yeah, yeah, yeah. Is it time for Game Of Thrones to come back yet?
Yes, it’s only been about seven months since Game Of Thrones’ fourth season wrapped up with Arya sailing off into the deep blue sea towards Braavos. But the fact that season five is barely less than half a year away does not mean we cannot start getting hyped and excited now. With the new season already well into its shooting schedule, and cast members seemingly doing interviews around the clock,...

When Game of Thrones returns for its fifth season next year, it will do so without Bran Stark and his beloved helpers Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) and Hodor. While fans will certainly miss the motley crew — especially Hodor — showrunner David Benioff told Entertainment Weekly that their absence is crucial to constructing the narrative scope of the show.
"Even though we’re making changes to the books and adapting as necessary, we’re trying to keep the various storylines the same as the books and trying to keep them roughly [chronologically] parallel,...

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is used to being famous. But not he’s not used to this. The dashing Game of Thrones star was sitting for an interview in a Seville hotel bar a few weeks ago. Behind him, gaggles of young women took pictures through the window until a server closed the drapes. He had only landed in Spain a few days before, but fans quickly figured out his hotel and mobbed him there more than once. Thrones typically shoots in Northern Ireland and Croatia; this year, the series added Spain for scenes set in the show’s fictional country of Dorne.
