Hemlock Grove is coming back to streaming.

The Eli Roth-exec produced horror drama series was removed last month from Netflix but now, thanks to a deal between producer/distributor Gaumont and FilmRise, the show will return to air.

The deal will see Hemlock Grove, as well as Gaumont’s Hannibal, air across FilmRise branded Ott channels. The company struck a non-exclusive deal to license the AVOD and Fast rights of both shows.

Hemlock Grove ran for three seasons on Netflix and was one of the streamer’s first original drama series.

Netflix users are calling out the streaming service for removing an original series for good.

Every month, licenced films and TV shows are taken down due to rights surrounding how long they are allowed to be on the service for.

It’s been widely believed that the original series developed by Netflix are safe, and will always be available to view. However, this is clearly not the case, and one such casualty will be Hemlock Grove.

The horror series, created by Brian McGreevy was first released in April 2013, and ran for three seasons. Its cast included Famke Janssen and Bill Skarsgård.

It turns out that Hemlock Grove is a co-production, with rights being owned by Gaumont International Television. It is not the first show to be released under the Netflix Original label that has been removed – nor will it be the last.

“The Son,” aptly, is the story of sons. While one could argue it should’ve then been called “The Sons,” the title of Philipp Meyer, Lee Shipman, and Brian McGreevy’s new AMC series almost feels like an invitation to pick one of the many featured sons, and that’s the one you’ll care about. Even if this is the case, the main protagonist, Eli McCullough — who’s more than likely the titular “Son” — is flawed not only in character, but also in concept. So the many scenes devoted to both the young and old versions of him hamper any enjoyment in the other intriguing characters and makes the first two episodes a bit of a slog.

Pierce Brosnan returns to television in the AMC drama “The Son.” Based on Philipp Meyer’s bestselling novel of the same name, the 10-episode season will follow Brosnan as Eli McCullough, the family patriarch of a wealthy Texas family who grew up among the Comanche tribe. AMC released the first trailer, which you can check out below (via Dark Horizons).

The series is set in two concurrent time periods. Jacob Lofland plays Eli’s younger self, who is kidnapped and indoctrinated into a tribe of Comanches in 1849. Sixty years later, he becomes an influential businessman and struggles to maintain his family’s business.

“I was told at a very early age that you have to roll with the punches,” says Brosnan in the trailer.

Pierce Brosnan is set to replace Sam Neill in the lead role in AMC's upcoming drama series "The Son," marking only his second major TV series role - the first being the one that shot him to fame over thirty years ago - NBC's "Remington Steele".

Based on the book by Philipp Meyer and written by Meyer, Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, the multi-generational epic follows America's birth as a superpower through the bloody rise and fall of one Texas family.

Deadline's Nellie Andreeva reports AMC has ordered The Son TV show straight to series. AMC will present at the Television Critics' Association winter press tour, today. This Texas drama is based on Philipp Meyer's award winning novel of the same name.

The Son was a 2014 Pulitzer finalist, although the prize went to The Goldfinch, by Donna Tartt. Per Deadline, Meyer will write and produce with Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy. Deadline also names Kevin Murphy as showrunner and Michael Connolly as producer.

While Netflix has rapidly made its foray into original programming over the years, going into everything from animated shows to family dramas, the streaming service will be going into new territory later this year, with one of its shows set to air its last season.

Hemlock Grove, which is executive produced by Eli Roth and created by Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman, will see its upcoming third season be its last. Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron, and Dougray Scott will be among the castmembers returning for the show’s last season.

With the third season set to premiere on October 23rd, a full trailer has now been released. Consisting of ten episodes, the entire season will be released at once, as per Netflix’s release model, and the trailer for the season can be seen below.

Los Angeles-based Slingshot Global Media, which launched in February in association with the busy Tpg Growth, has signed a first-look deal with Brian McGreevy, Lee Shipman and Philipp Meyer’s new production company.n

El Jefe will also be based in Los Angels and aims to target projects that will transition acclaimed novellists into creators of scripted television.

Bill Skarsgard and Landon Liboiron star on Netflix’s hit horror series Hemlock Grove as Godfrey estate heir Roman and werewolf Peter Rumancek – two teenage boys with a decidedly ambiguous relationship.

The two characters are first brought together in Hemlock Grove’s first season when Peter is falsely accused of murdering two teenage girls and Roman tries to find the true culprit. Over the course of the season, the nature of their relationship led many viewers to think that more than just a friendship was brewing between the two.

“Yeah, I mean it’s a fun thing that a lot of people saw. I guess there is sort of a romance between them,” Skarsgard told uInterview exclusively, adding that “the sexual tension between the two characters” wasn’t his or Liboiron’s intention.
