A native of Chicago, David Congalton serves on the screenwriting faculty of the Rocaberti Writers' Retreat, which alternates locations between France and Spain. From 1994 to 2005, he was the director of the Central Coast Writers' Conference in San Luis Obispo. Congalton is also a veteran radio host and the award-winning author of three nonfiction books. His broadcast interviews over the years have featured Leslie Nielsen, Jeff Daniels, Carol Channing, Billy Joel, Richard Benjamin, Peter Riegert, Eva Marie Saint, Hal Holbrook, and Tippi Hedren.
Congalton was named an Outstanding Alumnus by the School of Communication at Illinois State University in 2016. He lives in San Luis Obispo County and is active in animal rescue.
