Cherie Ditcham
- Actress
Cherie Leena Ditcham was born in Melbourne, Australia. Her father is Australian and her mother is Chinese/Malaysian. Growing up, Cherie was a curious and imaginative child. She danced ballet, and loved to write and perform stories. At 15-years-old, she was discovered by top Australian modeling agency, Camerons Management. She was later represented (in Australia) by Viviens Model Management. Cherie worked extensively in Australia as a commercial, runway and print model, and then, after being scouted by top agencies in Thailand and Hong Kong, she spent many years traveling to Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Thailand for work. Cherie found great success in Asia as a model; shooting numerous TV commercials and print campaigns for global brands.
As much as Cherie enjoyed modeling, it was equally important to her to complete her education. So after a fruitful stint in Asia, she returned to Melbourne to complete her tertiary education in Media Studies (RMIT) and Marketing Communications (Monash University). Cherie then moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to continue modeling and acting; finding a niche as a commercial actress and model for lifestyle and beauty brands. To date, Cherie has appeared in over 50 commercials worldwide.
Cherie co-produced her first short-film in 2009. Later she became a co-host of HDNet's travel adventure series, "Get Out", winning a competition to find the show's next host. Cherie returned to study in 2011, to complete her Masters in Creative Writing (Swinburne University of Technology). She is pursuing a life-long passion for writing and producing, alongside modeling and acting in TV commercials. She remains based in Los Angeles, and is represented by LA Models, Innovative Artists, Heffner Management and Locke Management.
