Craig Dyer is the owner of Dogtown Aviation, LLC, which specializes in
film & TV aviation operations and aerial production services. Craig has
been a helicopter pilot since 1986 and is a former U.S. Army Black Hawk
Aviator. In 25-years of flying, Craig has logged over 7000 hours with
an incident and accident free safety record.
In addition to motion picture & television production flying, Craig's comprehensive flight experience encompasses flying for the US Army, conducting emergency medical services (EMS), firefighting, law enforcement, corporate charter, long-line utility work-all very demanding flight duties.
During Operation Desert Storm and based in Cyprus, he successfully completed 20 special operation Beirut Air Bridge Missions in support of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon.
After leaving the military, Craig has been flying in Southern California and the Western U.S. In the mid 1990s, Craig logged time with all the major Los Angeles based television stations and reported live on local and national television from his helicopter engaged in the famed O.J. Simpson pursuit.
Craig has flown many high profile celebrities as well, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nicole Kidman, Nicholas Cage, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Kiefer Sutherland and others.
Craig's background also includes helicopter management services, aerial production work, high-tech gyro-stabilized camera system applications, and consulting services for helicopter programs.
Additionally, Craig has conceptualized and co-developed the Tyler Special Operations Platform (TSOP) with Tyler Camera Systems. The TSOP is designed to make helicopter special operations easier, more efficient, and safer. In the post 9-11 era, this leading-edge equipment is expanding the counter-terrorism capabilities of law enforcement & military agencies worldwide. Customers include the Los Angeles Police Department, the Royal Danish Air Force, the US Border Patrol, and the FBI, just to name a few.
