Mercy, directed by Tony Dean Smith and written by Alex Right, revolves around the life of Afghan war veteran Dr. Michelle Miller, who comes face-to-face with the dreaded Quinn gang while treating Ryan Quinn, the younger brother of the gang’s livewire Sean Quinn. Mercy is a total genre flick, reveling in the cool moments expected from a slick action thriller. The characters are set up pretty quickly without dabbling in too much exposition. The plot can remind one of Die Hard, revamped with a female action heroine. Dr. Michelle Miller, played by Leah Gibson, is a conscientious Afghan war veteran who takes on the Quinn gang after they come looking for Ryan, not knowing who they are up against. On the other side is Sean Quinn, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who has his own issues with his family, which he hopes to sort out by taking out his brother Ryan.

There isn’t much mercy in Mercy but there is a lot of action and stunt in this crime thriller set in a hospital, starring Leah Gibson (Jessica Jones), Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Vikings) and Jon Voight (Coming Home).

Leah Gibson plays a surgeon at Mercy hospital, a former military doctor in the Afghanistan War, who finds herself caught in difficult spot when the wounded son of an Irish mafia leader (Jon Voight) is brought to her hospital, and the Irish mafia seize control of the hospital. As the mafia head and his hot-headed son (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) battle FBI agents guarding the wounded man, the doctor finds herself, and her young son, caught in the crossfire, forcing her to call upon her battlefield past.

There is a Die Hard vibe to Mercy but a little Taken too,...

Die Hard came out thirty-five years ago and we’re still seeing a steady stream of knock-offs rip-offs and cash-ins arriving. Case in point, Mercy, which like last year’s Assault on Va-33 puts a hospital under siege. Can the filmmakers deliver an entertaining action film, or is this, like so many other similar films, Doa?

While serving in Afghanistan Dr. Michelle Miller had her husband turn up as a patient in her field hospital, worse he had a bomb strapped to him. This leads to an agonized, and agonizing, exchange of dialogue “Get out Michelle, somebody’s got to be there for Bobby!” “No, I’m not leaving you!” followed by Frank rolling off the table so his detonation somehow doesn’t kill her.

Exclusive: Jessica Jones alumna Leah Gibson and Nancy Drew‘s Aadila Dosani are set for recurring roles in Joe Pickett, Spectrum Originals’ hourlong drama series based on C.J. Box’s bestselling novels, starring Michael Dorman. The series hails from Waco creators John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, Paramount Television Studios and Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher’s Red Wagon Entertainment.

Joe Pickett follows a game warden (Dorman) and his family as they navigate the changing political and socio-economic climate in a small rural town in Wyoming. Safiyah has only been referenced by name so far on Batwoman, but we are finally going to meet the person behind that scary reputation.

Played by Shivaani Ghai (Dominion), the criminal mastermind from the island of Coryana is headed to the CW series in Episode 3 (airing Sunday at 8/7c) — and according to showrunner Caroline Dries, she at first might not appear to be the terrifying Big Bad that Alice has made her out as.

Carrie Underwood is bringing holiday cheer to HBO Max: The Grammy Award winner will perform songs from her first ever full-length Christmas album, My Gift, in a special for the streamer.

“Underwood will appear with a live orchestra and choir, performing a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating her faith and the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as new original material from the highly anticipated album,” per the official release. The special is slated to debut this holiday season, while the album will be released via CD and digital on Sept. 25.

Exclusive: Jessica Jones alumna Leah Gibson and Nathan Owens (Devious Maids) are set for recurring roles on the second season of the CW’s Batwoman. Both will join new lead Javicia Leslie, along with Shivaani Ghai, who also recurs in the superhero series. Season 2 is slated to premiere in January.

Gibson will play Tatiana aka “The Whisper.” She is a skilled assassin, unflappable and cold as ice in the face of danger. She is one of Safiyah’s most important henchwomen and still harbors feelings for her powerful boss.

Owens will portray Ocean, a zen gardner and thinker with a complicated past. A loyal soldier and fighter, Ocean moves to Gotham looking for a new beginning.

As previously announced, Leslie will play new character Ryan Wilder who is about to become Batwoman, succeeding Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane. Batwoman premiered last fall as the first superhero series in television history...

A character that leaves behind a meaningful memory can be quite rare, especially if the character only has a limited amount of time to leave an impression.

Leah Gibson rose to the challenge and captivated the audience with her portrayal of Gina, adding a layer of love to an unmatched character.

Her presence was a breath of fresh air, making us believe that maybe there was a future where things were just wonderful.

Gina Martin also brought some happiness to our favorite leading man, Bellamy Blake. Although Bellamy and the audience weren't lucky enough to keep Gina with us, she still left her own legacy behind.

The time that we got to spend with Gina was an incredible memory, and it symbolized the possibility for more.

Gina's death was also an inspiration for fans to express their frustration with the character offering more than just her relationship with Bellamy.

“Marvel’s Jessica Jones” is back for another healthy dose of dark psychological thrills. The first season of the Netflix series focused on the clash between Jessica (Krysten Ritter) and Kilgrave (David Tennant), a conflict rife with history that haunted Jessica everywhere she went. Even though the private detective Defender is on a new case in the new season, the trauma from her past is likely not disappearing anytime soon. The show has never been one to shy away from the dark social issues plaguing society, and from the latest trailer, that looks to continue to be the case in Season 2.

On a more positive note, the second season will be delving deeper into the friendship between Jessica and Trish Walker, a relationship that showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has deemed “the core relationship in the piece.” Rachael Taylor reprises her role as Trish in the new season, joining Carrie-Anne Moss and Eka Darville.

Surprise! Kilgrave is back from the dead. Well, sort of.

Entertainment Weekly has today unveiled a brand new photo from the upcoming second season of Marvel/Netflix’s Jessica Jones, in which Krysten Ritter’s whip-smart private eye stands alongside her long-time adversary, Kilgrave (David Tennant). Further details on the actor’s involvement haven’t been revealed just yet, but we imagine he’ll feature via flashbacks to Jessica’s tormented past. After all, Ritter’s reluctant hero did put an end to Kilgrave’s mind-bending reign of terror – exorcizing her own demons in the process – during the thrilling finale of Jessica Jones season 1.

Chalk that up as speculation for now, as like we said above, plot details are scarce at the moment. Still, if one thing’s for certain, it’s that given the fact that Kilgrave is arguably one of the better Marvel villains across screens both big and small,...

On the eve of The Defenders pummeling their way onto Netflix (our review), candid photos have emerged from the New York set of Jessica Jones season 2, which is currently playing host to Krysten Ritter, Malcolm Joseph Ducasse (Eka Darville) and David Tennant’s returning Kilgrave.

Proving those earlier rumors to be true, this week brought confirmation that the former Doctor Who star would reprise his villainous role for Jessica Jones season 2, leading to some speculation that Melissa Rosenberg and her team were about to resurrect Kilgrave for another stint in Hell’s Kitchen. But at least based on the gallery below, Tennant’s trickster seems to be haunting Jessica from beyond the grave, and is likely a physical manifestation of her own personal grief for snapping his neck at the tail-end of season 1. "Jessica Jones" Season 2, is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, set in the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' (McU), sharing continuity with the films and other television series of the franchise. The season is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios and Tall Girls Productions, with Melissa Rosenberg serving as showrunner.

Krysten Ritter stars as 'Jones,' with Rachael Taylor and Carrie-Anne Moss also returning from the first season. 

Cast also includes Leah Gibson and J.R. Ramirez. Filming started April 2017 in New York City, back-to-back with the miniseries "Marvel's The Defenders".

"Jessica Jones" Season 2 will start airing on Netflix in 2018.

Jessica Jones is in for a bad case of déjà vu.

David Tennant, who famously and nefariously played Season 1’s Kilgrave (and was just named our Performer of the Week for Broadchurch Season 3), will reprise his role as the mind-warping villain in Season 2 of the Netflix/Marvel drama, EW.com reports.

Kilgrave was last seen in the Season 1 finale, where Krysten Ritter’s titular heroine — spoiler alert! — snapped his neck and killed him.

It did well in its first season but tanked in the ratings in season two and is sure to be cancelled. THR reports that DirecTV has renewed their Rogue TV show for a third season of 20 episodes. The order will be split into two parts, between spring of 2015 and 2016. No decision has been made yet on if this will be the final round of episodes for the show.

Rogue revolves around a female undercover detective (Thandie Newton) who works to find her son's killer and ends up working with a crime boss. With oodles of familiar faces already attached to star, today comes even more casting news for the A&E series "The Returned" so read on for the latest!

Per Deadline, Leah Gibson (pictured; "Rogue") and Rhys Ward ("The Strain") have been cast in recurring roles. Gibson will play Lucy, a sexy, free-spirited traveler who works as a waitress at the local bar, The Dog Star Tavern. Ward plays Adam, an expert hunter with a dark nature and a complicated family history that he’s struggling to overcome.

As previously announced, Mary Elizabeth Winstead portrays Rowan, the girlfriend of late musician Simon (Mat Vairo), who had a very difficult time getting past his death 10 years ago and now will have to adjust to his return.

Michelle Forbes ("True Blood") will play Helen Goddard, a mysterious woman who is one of the returnees.
