Kim Marie Swanson
- Casting Director
- Casting Department
- Producer
Kim Marie Swanson was born Kim Marie Hanson in Danville, Illinois.
Raised in the same hometown as Gene Hackman, Donald O'Conner, Dick
VanDyke, Jerry VanDyke, Jim Gammon, and many others, the idea of working in the
entertainment industry seemed to be a normal career choice.
The daughter of a former race-car driver, turned bricklayer and a home-maker, Swanson began dancing at the age of 4. She studied under many of the greatest dancers in several genres, including Gus Giordano (the "Godfather of Jazz Dance"), Douglas Wassell (ballet), Ourania Kiortses-Simms (ballet), Savion Glover (tap), Lathanial Cooper (tap) and countless others.
After working in theatre (including shows such as "A Chorus Line", and "George M!"), as well as various commercials and a couple of parts in film, Swanson gave up performing so she could devote her life to raising her children. In an effort to find an outlet for the creative background, she has taught dance for nearly 4 decades, producing a multitude of professional dancers throughout the world. She then tried her hand at casting, and the first three commercial projects she cast won Emmy Awards.
She continues her career in casting, as well as choreography for films and commercial work in the Midwest, as well as Los Angeles. She has cast nationally recognized award winning commercials, films and episodic shows.
