Desirée is a two time Telly Award winning actor, filmmaker, and producer, known for exploring social and feminist themes through a magical/hopeful lens. Desirée was an Inwood Artworks Filmmakers Grant recipient for her magical realist short film, "An Invitation to Tea", which garnered her several "Audience Choice", "Best New Director", and "Excellence in Filmmaking" awards during its 2020-2022 festival season. Her second film, "ANNE", has been accepted/screened in over 30 festivals worldwide and, in addition to "Audience Choice", "Diversity in the Arts", "Best Cinematic Director", and "Best of Fest" awards, it was in consideration for a 2023 Academy Award Live Action Shorts nomination. Her most recent short film, "Beyond the Fog", was the recipient of a production grant via IndieGrants and the South Carolina Film Commission. It made its world premiere at RIFF in September of 2024.
