Italian producer Andrea Iervolino — whose credits include Michael Mann’s “Ferrari,” the Johnny Depp-starrer “Waiting for the Barbarians” and “Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend” — has parted ways with business partner Monika Bacardi and is launching a new film and TV outfit called The Andrea Iervolino Company.
Iervolino and Bacardi were partners in Ilbe, the studio they co-founded and jointly ran for 13 years.
“With the launch of Taic, Iervolino has stepped down as president and CEO of Ilbe, the studio he co-founded and ran for the last decade, to focus on Taic,” Iervolino said in a statement. “He will remain available in a non-exclusive capacity to assist Ilbe with the transition of a new CEO.”
No reason for the apparent falling out between Iervolino and Bacardi was provided in the statement.

Like most teenagers, Clare Bleeker (Bella Thorne) is a normal teenage girl who harbours secrets. But, unlike most teenagers, Clare is a serial killer intent on ending the lives of predacious men. But Clare is not your garden-variety sociopath, as she believes what she is doing is in the service of God. As she reminds us: “Everything I have said and done has been in the hands of God. I was born to do this. I am not afraid.” Accompanied by Bob (Frank Whaley), an apparition of one of Bleeker’s past victims, Clare journeys through the 90-minute runtime, lurching from disaster to the next as she descends into the seedy criminal underworld.

Although Charlie Puth recently announced his Brooke Sansone, his dating history before he met the PR coordinator was quite interesting. From confessions of an alleged fling with Selena Gomez to rumors involving Danielle Campbell, and even the short-term speculation surrounding his relationship with Halston Sage. Many have been curious about the ins and outs of the singer’s life. However, none of his alleged past partners seems to have had the impact that Bella Thorne seemed to have had.

There were several speculations surrounding a relationship between Thorne and Puth that had the world running in circles, trying to find some proof or another. However, what seemed to be the truth was a lot messier than anyone could have ever imagined.

The world of horror and thriller cinema has seen its fair share of anti-heroes, from Hannibal Lecter to Patrick Bateman, but the latest entry in this dark lineage is Clare Bleecker, a teenage sociopath played by Bella Thorne in Mitzi Peirone’s sophomore feature, Saint Clare.
Based on Don Roff’s novel Clare at Sixteen, this film takes the familiar tropes of a morally ambiguous protagonist and attempts to mix them with a blend of Gothic fantasy, Southern noir, and religious symbolism. The result is a visually arresting but narratively convoluted piece that struggles to deliver on its intriguing premise.
From the outset, Saint Clare hooks its audience with the chilling declaration from Clare herself, borrowing from Joan of Arc: “Everything I have said and done has been in the hands of God. I was born to do this. I am not afraid.” It’s a bold statement that...

“Things get messy when you make a deal with the devil.”
Babysitters occupy a unique place in society. Somewhere between child and adult, they step into the family system for a brief moment in time to hold the line of parental responsibility. Of course people of all ages and identities can and do babysit, but when we think of the amateur profession, it’s a high school girl that usually comes to mind. She is polite, demure, and responsible, young enough to kick back and have fun with the kids, but old enough to take charge in the event of a crisis. Cosplaying the role of mother, she often becomes an object of sexual desire and stereotypical temptation for discontent fathers and curious young boys. McG plays with this enigmatic archetype in The Babysitter, a satanic horror comedy featuring one of the coolest and most endearing antagonists in recent horror memory.

“Everything I have said and done has been in the hands of God. I was born to do this. I am not afraid,” repeats Clare (Bella Thorne) over the opening montage. It’s a quote from Joan of Arc but she means it sincerely, applying it to her own life, and repeats it at intervals throughout the film, whenever her courage – practical or moral – threatens to fail her.
If there’s one characteristic that seems to apply consistently to saints, it’s courage. That could emerge from a number of places. Clare has had to learn to be brave because she’s known from an early age that she’s not like other people. She can’t connect to the world in the same way that they do. She’s a sociopath. The sociopath-as-protagonist idea isn’t new, or course, but this is a world away from the smug satire...

Eddie Alcazar’s Divinity tells a strangely unsettling story about humanity’s relationship with science and our innate fear of mortality. The film takes place in a somewhat distant future where an inventor named Jaxxon Pierce has developed a serum called Divinity that claims to offer immortality by halting the physical aging process. However, this miracle drug comes with a major caveat: it renders all who take it permanently sterile. As a result, over time humans have lost their ability to reproduce even as they’ve gained the promise of never-ending life.
We’re introduced to Jaxxon, played compellingly by Stephen Dorff, as he operates a booming commercial enterprise selling Divinity to anyone eager to escape death. But it becomes clear he cares more for profits and pleasure than any ethical considerations.
We also learn his father first created Divinity with loftier goals of using science to help humanity before...

Veteran film festival chief Marco Müller took over the reins of Taormina in April, giving him a short window to pull together the ongoing 70th edition. After a week that has included the world premiere of Saint Clare starring Bella Thorne, the Italian premiere of Warner Bros/Universal’s Twisters and Baltasar Kormakur’s Touch from Focus, as well as a high-profile visit from Sharon Stone, he still appears to be on the fence about returning next year.
“The festival harvest is like the weather, so sometimes you just have to shake the tree and the beautiful fruits come into your hands,” Müller told Deadline. “This year, with the strike in Hollywood and the fact that I signed my contract around April 12, the fact that both Warner Bros and Universal went for Taormina for me is a good starting point for the future — if ever I would have a future here.

Back in 2019, it was announced that Riverdale‘s Madelaine Petsch had signed on to star in a horror comedy called Clare at 16, which was going to be written and directed by Mark Pavia, the filmmaker behind the 1997 Stephen King adaptation The Night Flier, and based on a novel by Don Roff. That iteration of the project didn’t make it into production, and in 2022 Bella Thorne (Infamous) not only signed on to star in the title role of what was now being called Saint Clare, but she also brought Dying to Play (a.k.a. Braid) director Mitzi Peirone on board to write and direct the film. Saint Clare just had its premiere at the Taormina Film Festival, and during the event Thorne revealed to Deadline that she helped edit the serial killer movie.

Saint Clare is a haunting, blood-soaked thriller set for its UK premiere in August at London’s FrightFest. Bella Thorne delivers an outstanding performance as the eponymous lead in a spiritually charged small-town tale in which American Psycho meets Joan of Arc.
In a small town, a solitary young woman is haunted by voices that lead her to assassinate people with bad intentions who think they can get away with it. But her last kill changes everything and sucks her headlong down a rabbit hole riddled with corruption, trafficking and twisted visions from the beyond. Can Saint Clare save herself from unimaginable terror as her pursuit for retribution takes a dangerous turn, carrying her deep into an unknown hell?

Bella Thorne, the star of “Shake It Up” and “Amityville Horror,” and Rebecca De Mornay, best known for “Risky Business” and “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,” are at the Taormina Film Festival this week with Mitzi Peirone’s horror-thriller “Saint Clare,” which opened the Sicilian event. The actors and director spoke to Variety about how the film was inspired by Joan of Arc, the peasant girl who led the French army against the English invaders, and was burned to death at the stake.
“Saint Clare” tells the story of Clare Bleeker, a Catholic college student who has a knack of killing sexual predators. Peirone said: “Clare’s role model is Joan of Arc because she literally gave everything, herself included, to her mission. Italian directer and writer Mitzi Peirone’s Taormina Film Festival opener Saint Clare employs a number of cues from the story of Joan of Arc, the 15th century warrior and martyr who believed that God had chosen her to lead France to victory in its long-running war with England.
Saint Clare is set in a small town where a solitary, young woman (Bella Thorne) is haunted by voices that lead her to assassinate ill-intended people and get away with it, until her last kill sucks her down a rabbit hole riddled with corruption, the trafficking of young women and visions from the beyond. The Taormina Film Festival kicked off this weekend with the world premiere screening of Mitzi Peirone’s Saint Clare, starring Bella Thorne, Rebecca De Mornay and Ryan Phillippe.
Introducing the movie in the hilltop Sicilian town’s open-air Teatro Antico, Thorne thanked attendees for supporting independent film “which makes our hearts soar” as well as her director for her “hardcore f*ck you I’m not gonna take no,” attitude.
This is a return to Taormina for Thorne after last year debuting a short film she directed and guest curating the festival’s ‘Influential Shorts’ evening. She’s also got a new short which screened here on Sunday, titled Unsettled.

Before July 3, Allen has appeared in thousands of paparazzi photos and red carpet pics. But she often hides her feet beneath full-length gowns or close-toed footwear. See the last time she bared her feet for cameras all the way back in October 2023.

The 2024 erotic thriller competed for several awards at the 77th annual festival. But Thorne may have stolen the show with her gorgeous look. The 26-year-old’s black Nicolas Jebran Couture gown featured an off-the-shoulder collared necklace to show off the necklace.

You can always count on mother-daughter duo Heidi Klum and Leni Olumi Klum to bring glamour to any red-carpet event they attend. The 2024 amfAR Cannes Gala red carpet was no exception, as they dazzled in contrasting ruffled gowns that set them apart from a myriad of A-list stars.
Their presence instantly captured me when they stood for photos on the red carpet. Supermodel Heidi Klum nearly overshadowed her daughter in an ostentatious peach-colored gown. But Leni, a budding model in her own right, isn’t one to back down, commanding attention in a black see-through mesh gown.

Each year, the amfAR Gala is one of the biggest celebrity-studded and exclusive black-tie events during the Cannes Film Festival. Always held on the last Thursday of the festival, the evening brings together notable names and those with thick wallets to raise money for AIDS research and HIV prevention, treatment, education and advocacy. This year, the 30th edition of the gala — held at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc — started off with cocktails and the red carpet, then a dinner and live auction.
Among the glittering stars attending the gala were Michelle Yeoh, Heidi Klum, Andie MacDowell, Diane Kruger, Colman Domingo, Maria Bakalova, Odell Beckham, Jr., Tommy and Dee Hilfiger, Paris Jackson, Magic Johnson, Coco Rocha, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Bella Thorne, Julian Lennon and more.

In fall 2009, a young girl nervously walked into an audition room to perform for Disney Channel casting agents, who were actively seeking the star for their new show ‘Dance Dance Chicago.’ The girl wasn’t fully confident in her dancing ability, but she connected with the character, Rocky Blue. After chemistry testing with another young actress, this girl was hired for her first major project, which would later be renamed ‘Shake It Up.’ A little over a decade later, she would win her first Emmy Award for ‘Euphoria.’ Now, Zendaya has become a household name after growing a reputation of excellence in the entertainment industry. At 27 years old, she’s been in multiple Disney Channel projects, animated films, a musical, three Marvel films, Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ franchise, and the newest Luca Guadagnino film ‘Challengers.’ She made Forbes’ 30 under 30 list at only 19 years old, and was labeled a “triple threat from the Mouse House.

Twelve years ago, Zendaya netted her feature debut in Disney Channel’s Frenemies.
The actress had been starring opposite Bella Thorne on the Disney series Shake It Up, about performers on a Chicago-based TV dance show. Zendaya was 14 when she and Thorne filmed the anthology comedy for director Daisy von Scherler Mayer, who had helmed the 1995 Parker Posey indie Party Girl and the 1998 feature Madeline. One of Frenemies‘ three connected storylines saw Zendaya and Thorne as aspiring magazine editors competing for a gig with an NYC publisher.
“Zendaya really wanted to have fun with the comedy and lean into it,” von Scherler Mayer says. “She chose to wear big glasses and be goofy, and it impressed me that she wanted to show off her comic chops and has such great timing.”
The film shot in Toronto, and the director recalls the lead actresses having slumber parties during production: “All those teenagers were true teenagers.
