Ahmed Sharif was born on 12 August, 1943 in Kushtia, East Bengal, British India (now Bangladesh). His birth name was Sharifuddin Ahmed. He debuted in the film industry through the film 'Shorolipi', directed by Nazrul Islam in 1972. He received huge accolades acting in the 'Shubash Dutta''s film 'Arunodoyer Agnishakkhi'. Other notable films of Ahmed Sharif are 'Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo (1982)', 'Mohana (1983)', 'Anyay Abichar (1985)', 'Aar Paar (1985)', 'Keyamot Theke Keyamot (1993)', Banglar Nayok (1995)'. In 2001, he debuted as a director by making a Telefilm titled 'Kshanik Basanta'. Earlier in 2003, Sharif made a play for Bangladesh Television (BTV) titled 'Phul Phute Phul Jhore'.
