Sara Carinhas has been studying with Polina Klimovitskaya since 2009. She finished her degree in Artisitc Studies at the Faculdade Letras - Lisbon University.
As an actress she worked with Adriano Luz, Ana Tamen (Jean Racine), Beatriz Batarda, Cristina Carvalhal (Mayenburg) , Fernanda Lapa (Euripides), João Mota (Edmond Rostand); Luis Castro (Raúl Brandão), Nuno Cardoso (Anton Chèckov and William Shakespeare), Marco Martins (Jean Genet), Nuno Carinhas (Bertold Brecht), Olga Roriz, Ricardo Aibéo (Georg Büchner), Ricardo Pais (William Shakespeare) and Victor Hugo Pontes (Virginia Woolf).
And on cinema she worked with Valeria Sarmiento, Manoel Oliveira, Alberto Seixas Santos, Manuel Mozos, Pedro Marques, Tiago Guedes and Frederico Serra, and Rui Simões. Sara was responsible for the dramaturgy, casting direction and actors' direction in the movie "Snu", from Patrícia Sequeira.
She won the "Young Talent L'Oreal Paris award" on the Estoril Film Festival as an actress on the movie "Coisa Ruim" (2008) In 2015 she won the "Portuguese authors society price", the "Honorable mention of the Portuguese's theatre critic association" and the Portuguese "Golden globe", for her performance in "Farse" by Raúl Brandão directed by Luis Castro.
As a stage director she signs the direction and adaptation of "The Waves" by Virginia Woolf (2013) and the co-creation of "Orlando" from the same author. In 2018 she staged "Limbo" with an international cast.
