Keller Wortham, (a.k.a. James Keller Wortham) is a bilingual (Spanish-English) actor known for his roles in TV programs in the United States, Central and South America, including "Jane The Virgin," "Alla Te Espero," and "Bajo el Mismo Cielo." He was born in the United States, however his father's military medical career meant moving frequently during his youth.
Keller was very active in the performing arts in his youth, however this aspect of his life would take a temporary back seat as he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and pursue a career in medicine. Keller completed his pre-med requirements at Duke University, where he also majored in Spanish Literature. He additionally spent 2 years in Madrid, Spain, studying art history, and teaching at an international school. He attended medical school at Georgetown University, and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
After finishing his medical training in 2004, Keller moved to Los Angeles to reconnect with his artistic side and pursue a career in film and television. Since then he has been living and working as both an actor and a physician. Keller's first foray into film was the provocative and sensual movie "Now and Later," which addressed violence and sexuality in American society. He also had roles on several TV shows such as iCarly, Westworld, and Covert Affairs, and worked as a medical consultant and host on TV programs such as "Love Handles," "What Happens Next," "Fight Science," and "Taboo."
His fluency in Spanish opened the door to his success in the Latin TV market. Keller lived for 3 years in Bogota, Colombia, where he played the lead in the highly successful Colombian Telenovela "Alla Te Espero," for which he received a Best Actor nomination. He has also worked as a series regular on multiple Spanish Language TV shows for FOX and NBC/Telemundo including "El Capo," "Bajo El Mismo Cielo," and "Sangre de mi Tierra."
In the U.S., Keller is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the obnoxious and arrogant Telenovela star, "Esteban Santiago," on the award winning TV show "Jane the Virgin."
Keller continues to work as a physician to this day, seeing patients at his wellness clinic, "Optimum Wellness," in Glendale, CA.
