Acting for Jason Damico started in community theatre at the age of 7 playing the role of a shepherd boy in an annual Christmas production at Raleigh Little Theatre. At 10 he was cast as a "little" in Ira David Wood's satirical, musical theatre production of A Christmas Carol and at 13 he had the privilege of auditioning for a Broadway show with Tony Award winning composer, Jason Robert Brown. In the same year Jason landed a lead role on Discovery TV. In his teen years he played the lead Kenickie in Grease, Goody Goodman King in Fame and Chad in All Shook Up". He appeared in the pilot show of East Bound and Down (HBO) as a young baseball player, in the feature film Hick, Fan Girl (ABC Family), and more recently, The Irishman (Martin Scorsese, Netflix), In New York (EnMaze Pictures, Quantico (ABC), Homicide Hunter Lt. Joe Kenda (Investigation Discovery Network), Good Behavior (TNT), Strings (Wagz Films), and The Believers (David Quillin). Over the years Jason has also appeared in numerous commercials and print ads.
Jason is a talented, child prodigy multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and recording artist which allows him to easily accommodate roles that require an actor who can sing, play guitar, piano or drums. He is also a trained dancer in ballet, jazz, modern, tap and hip-hop.
Academically, he was homeschooled for most of his education which allowed the flexibility in his schedule to pursue his love for acting and music. While in high school Jason was nominated to the Governor's School of North Carolina, "the oldest statewide residential program for academically or intellectually gifted high school students in the nation" and nominated as a National Scholar and homecoming king, as well as a member of The National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Prior to this, he qualified for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) for the academically gifted and talented.
Graduating Summa Cum Laude and honored to have received the Outstanding Graduate Award, Jason earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in leadership and management. He is also an active member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society and Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society in recognition of high scholastic achievement. Most recently, he has been accepted into the Masters Program at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, but has deferred for the time being, due to recent career opportunities.
By the age of 10 Jason had earned a Platinum Award from the Presidential Volunteer Service Award Program earning over 135 hours of community service in one year. As a young adult, Jason's philosophy is to "give back" so community service remains an important part of his life as he continues to volunteer his time and talent performing for the USO of NC, Music 4Hope, Musician Corps, Tunes for Tots, Knights of Columbus, Wounded Warriors Project, Hope Chapel, and the Mid-Hudson Church Worship Band.
