Set in Manhattan in the 1950s, the show follows a sharp, energetic housewife (Brosnahan) who discovers her own comedic skills and attempts to reinvent her life with all odds against her as a stand-up comic. Vought will star in the third season as Major Buck Brillstein, an enthusiastic emcee and comedian for the Army USO tour show, introducing all the acts and appearing in various sketch comedy pieces. Season three of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" will premiere on Amazon on December 6, 2019.
Additional television credits for Vought include CBS' "The Good Wife" and its critically acclaimed CBS All Access spin-off, "The Good Fight," both "Lipstick Jungle" and "Love Bites" on NBC, Fox's "Bones," FX's "Wilfred," and voiceover work for "Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story," (2015) alongside names such as Mel Brooks, Danny DeVito and Francis Ford Coppola.
Vought is also an accomplished comedian, having toured the country opening for Wayne Brady at venues such as The Mirage in Las Vegas and The MGM Grand in Detroit as well as performing at world renowned comedic venues, such as the Comic Strip Live, Carolines on Broadway, and Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. Vought has been praised for his quick wit, skilled impressions and ability to mimic just about everyone. Influenced by the likes of Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman, Vought has a sincere passion for comedy and always finds his way back to the stage.
Vought got his start in the entertainment industry by contributing to Scott Shannon's #1 morning show on 95.5 WPLJ, offering David Letterman updates and recaps. This opportunity opened the door for Vought to work for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Following his work with Conan, Vought was offered a position in the West Wing of the White House, working for former President Bill Clinton, where he still continued his radio work on the weekends, as the youngest morning show host in the country at just 22 years old. His passion for hosting radio soon sparked his love for stand-up; he soon began formal training in acting while continuing to practice his comic craft on stage at various comedy clubs. Vought went on to serve as head writer for Wayne Brady during his time hosting the "The Late Late Show" prior to James Corden in 2014 on CBS, and later moving on to tour the country together performing stand-up. Vought also collaborates consistently with renowned Actor and Comedian Paul Reiser, including opening for his standup and shopping a television pilot they wrote together with Julie Bergman.
When not on set or on stage, Vought loves to spend time with his son and travel, ski, go to the movies, and grab coffee with his friends and other comics. To unwind, Vought loves to practice transcendental meditation twice a day.
