Robert Cannan is a writer/director and producer working in both documentary and fiction. His early roles include working as an Associate Producer for renowned British documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield on the Sundance drama feature Ghosts (2006) before directing and producing his own award-winning documentary feature debut Three Miles North of Molkom (2008), which has since been optioned for a drama remake. Cannan's The Lovers and the Despot (2016) was nominated for the Sundance Grand Jury Prize in the category World Cinema - Documentary. He is a producer on forthcoming Puritan-Western Thriller Fanny Lye Deliver'd (2019) starring Maxine Peake, Charles Dance, Freddie Fox and Tanya Reynolds.
