Benjamin Plaut

Benjamin Plaut practiced law for six years and then spent five years as
a television news anchor and reporter before becoming a full-time
actor. Born in Buffalo, New York, Benjamin attended Brown University
(where he won the Pre-Law prize) and the University of Virginia School
of Law (where he won the Character, Leadership and Scholarship Award.)
Benjamin served as Assistant District Attorney for Harris County
(Houston), Texas and then joined the Atlanta-based law firm of King and
Spalding before beginning his television career in Beaumont, Texas.
While the main anchor of the CBS affiliate in Montgomery, Alabama,
Benjamin co-hosted, co-wrote and co-produced the special "Breaking the
Barrier" that won the Alabama Associated Press Award for Best
Documentary in 2003. It was in Montgomery that Benjamin began working
in film, as an extra on Tim Burton's Big Fish. After completing his
television news and legal career in Texas, Benjamin moved to Louisiana
to work as an actor. He now lives in Los Angeles.
