Joseph S. Djafar (Joseph) is born and raised in Indonesia. Joseph falls in love with music for films since he realizes that music in films plays a great role to human emotion. All these years, Joseph has been fortunate to work with many well-known Indonesian film producers and directors. His original and creative composition has led him to win Best Original Score in Festival Film Bandung for Putih Abu Abu TV Series (2012). Joseph has also been nominated to receive Best Screen Scoring award in 2012 and 2014 Festival Film Indonesia.
Joseph completed his Master of Music in Screen Scoring from USC Thornton School of Music (Summa Cum Laude) in 2022. After graduation, Joseph is based in Los Angeles, embarking on fulfilling his dream as a composer.
