For his role in
The Assassin (2007), he named his character Detective Fiorito "Ray" DeBlase in tribute to three people; a friend and former co-worker, NYPD/NYTPD Police Officer Ramon "Ray" Suarez and two childhood friends John "Johnny Figs" Fiorito, and James "Jimmy D" DeBlase, all of whom died the 11th of September, 2001.
