A society gets the democracy it deserves. People elect their leaders and one
assumes they do it in an informed way. What's frightening is, if they
aren't vigilant enough, people can't stop [government corruption] before it reaches a
disastrous level. And the idea of being lied to is awfully frightening,
especially when it's by people who are supposed to be protecting you.
