Exclusive: Bridget Regan (Jane the Virgin) and Patrick Heusinger (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back) have signed on to star alongside Katherine Castro in Weak, a new thriller from writer-director J.S. Mayank.

The film inspired by a true story follows an investigation involving two women: Audra (Castro), who’s suffering from depression, and her friend Jen (Regan), who’s trying to help her cope with the mental health issues. Upon their visit to a gun range, an unexpected turn of events leads to a surprising and horrifying revelation.

It’s not yet clear who Heusinger is playing.

Alex Creswick is producing the film, with Anival Morales and Mayank’s longtime collaborator Castro serving as exec producers.

Regan was just cast as Poison Ivy in The CW’s Batwoman, and recently completed filming on Paradise Lost, starring in the Spectrum Originals limited series opposite Josh Harnett, Nick Nolte and Barbara Hershey.

It looks like Emily's troubles are over. The creative team of the Absentia TV series has decided not to make a fourth season of the Amazon Prime Video show. The third season was released in July of last year on the streaming service.

Absentia has come to an end as star Stana Katic revealed on Friday that the Amazon series’ third season is its last.

Katic, who executive produces and leads the thriller drama series as Emily Byrne, paid tribute to her cast and crew, celebrated her time on the show and honored her fans with posts on Twitter and Instagram.

“When they asked me in January 2017 if I was ready to spend 3 years in Bulgaria shooting a cable TV series, I had no idea what I was in for. I could never have imagined the creative partnerships and the friendships that would form and enrich my life,” she wrote. “Three Seasons was the perfect amount of space for a beautiful, complicated and wonderfully fulfilling journey. We took our protagonist on the path of victim to survivor to … empowered architect of her own future, which is a journey I hope we can all have after this confounding year.

Absentia's fate has been decided, and it's not good news for fans holding on to hope for new episodes.

The hit Amazon thriller is over, with the recent third season serving as its conclusion.

Stana Katic broke the news on Twitter Friday, revealing that the plan was always for three seasons, but there was a possibility of more.

The former Castle actress said that “although we’ve danced with the idea of continuing the tale, Absentia was always meant to be only three seasons, and I couldn’t think of a better note to end on… for any person on this planet, but especially [Katic’s character] Emily and her loved ones.”

The series told the story of FBI special agent Emily Byrne who disappeared without a trace while hunting one of Boston's most notorious serial killers, and she is declared dead in absentia.

Actress Stana Katic's series "Absentia" has got a greenlight for a third season.

Amazon has given a formal season three pickup to its thriller "Absentia", which is executive produced by Katic. It will debut in 2020 exclusively on Prime Video in the Us, as well as in select markets globally, reports deadline.com.

Filming on the third season of "Absentia" is underway in Sofia, Bulgaria, with new executive producer and showrunner Will Pascoe, who is known for "Orphan Black" and "Shut Eye".

Pascoe will succeed season 2 showrunner Samantha Corbin-Miller.

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" actor Geoff Bell and "Wonder Woman" Josette Simon have joined the cast.

The Stana Katic series “Absentia” has been picked up for a third season at Amazon, Variety has learned.

In addition, Geoff Bell and Josette Simon are joining the cast, while Will Pascoe has been tapped as executive producer and showrunner.

“Absentia” centers on FBI agent Emily Byrne (Katic), and the new season opens three months after the dramatic events of season two with Emily nearing the end of her suspension from the FBI and working hard to be the best possible mother to her son. Everything is upended when one of Nick Durand’s (Patrick Heusinger) criminal cases hits too close to home and threatens the lives of the family Emily is desperately trying to hold together. Filming on the third season of Absentia is well underway in Sofia, Bulgaria, with new executive producer/showrunner Will Pascoe, who succeeds Season 2 showrunner Samantha Corbin-Miller. Geoff Bell (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Josette Simon (Wonder Woman) have joined the cast.

Amazon is finalizing a third-season renewal of thriller Absentia, starring and executive produced by Castle alumna Stana Katic, I have learned.

The full second season of Absentia, commissioned for Sony Pictures Television’s international networks, premiered June 14 on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. as well as in select markets globally, following its March 26 debut on Axn. I hear the series is already gearing up to begin production on Season 3 in Bulgaria where the first two seasons were also shot.

The Stana Katic-led “Absentia” has been renewed for a second season by Amazon, the streamer announced Thursday. The sophomore installment is currently in production in Sofia, Bulgaria and set to debut in 2019 on Prime Video.

It took awhile but Amazon has officially picked up a second season of thriller Absentia starring and executive produced by Castle alumna Stana Katic. It will debut in 2019 on Prime Video in the U.S., as well as in select markets globally, including Australia, Austria, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey and the U.K.

Stana Katic’s dark crime series, Absentia, will return to Amazon Prime Video for Season 2.

Absentia Season 2 is set to bring another 10-episode run of moody criminal intrigue to Amazon Prime Video in the U.S.

The globally distributed series – a production of Axn will play Cal Isaac, a rough ex-Navy Seal, whose own battles with personal demons leads to the creation of a bond with the traumatized Emily (Katic).

Natasha Little (The Night Manager) will play Special Agent Julianne Gunnarsen, an attractive and enigmatic FBI profiler from the Boston Field Office who arrives in town after a deadly terrorist attack.

Stana Katic’s TV comeback will continue: TVLine has confirmed that the former Castle star’s new drama Absentia has been renewed for a second season, as was quietly revealed earlier this month at the Corus Upfronts in Canada.

The sophomore run will reportedly again consist of 10 hour-long episodes. An Amazon rep did not immediately respond to TVLine’s inquiry about whether the streaming service will again host the series in the U.S. (as it did this past February).

Sony Pictures Television Networks has ordered Reckoning, a 10-episode straight-to-series psychological thriller drama, from writer David Hubbard (Noel) and veteran showrunner David Eick.

Produced by Sony Pictures TV-owned Australian company Playmaker Media (The Code), Reckoning is set to begin filming July 9 in Australia for premiere on Sptn’s international channels, including Axn, in select territories in Europe and Latin America. Sony Pictures Television Distribution will handle worldwide sales of the series, which will be wholly produced and post-produced in Australia.

Reckoning is part of Sony Pictures TV Networks’s ramped up efforts in the original production arena. It follows the success of Sptn’s Absentia, a dramatic thriller starring Stana Katic and Patrick Heusinger, which was originally commissioned for Axn in 2017 and is now airing on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. and other territories.

When Patrick Heusinger read the script for Absentia Season 1 Episode 1, he decided he had to play the role of Nick Durand, a man caught between his current wife, and the one he thought was murdered by a serial killer.

Amazon has released the first trailer for an intense new series that they are producing called Absentia. This looks like it will be a great series and if you're a fan of Castle, you'll be happy to see that the series stars Stana Katic. The series tells the story of a missing FBI agent who is found after six years and she can't remember anything that had happened to her. Absentia finally has a premiere date!

It's been a long and winding road for those of us who want to watch the series, but Amazon has confirmed all ten episodes will release at once on its streaming platform, Amazon Prime from February 2.

The thriller is fronted by Castle's Stana Katic and will serve as her first series regular role since the ABC crime-solver went off the air in 2016.

The series tells the story of FBI agent Emily Byrne (Katic) who, while hunting one of Boston’s most prominent serial killers, disappears and is declared dead.

Six years later, she is found in a cabin in the woods, with no memory of the years she was missing.

Returning home, she finds out that her husband (Patrick Heusinger) has remarried and her son is being raised by another woman.

As if that was not bad enough, she soon finds herself implicated...

Stana Katic’s Castle follow-up, Absentia, will make its Stateside debut on Friday, Feb. 2, Amazon has announced. All 10 episodes will be released at once.

Stana Katic’s Castle follow-up has finally found a U.S. home.

Amazon has acquired the rights to Absentia, the streamer announced on Wednesday. The 10-episode thriller is slated to premiere sometime in 2018, with all 10 episodes being released at once.

In addition, Amazon will also stream the series for Australia, Austria, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey and the U.K.

Absentia has been available to more than 15 other countries, Spain and Russia included, since as long ago as Sept. 25.
