Edith Bukovics is a native of Vienna, Austria and was raised in numerous countries as her family moved between Norway, The Netherlands, New Zealand, the US and the UK. She is the granddaughter of the Austrian organist and composer Anton Heiller, and great-granddaughter of Emmerich Bukovics, actor and Artistic Director of the Vienna Volkstheater. Actresses in her extended family included Toni Von Bukovics and Adrienne Gessner.
Edith showed interest in acting from an early age and wrote, produced and acted in numerous theatrical productions alongside her full-time education. She gained an MA in English from Cambridge University and spent the early years of her career training at the Actor's Temple, London.
Edith's first leading screen role was in the powerful Greek-Cypriot film Secret Paths, and has since gone on to work with BAFTA and FIPRESCI award-winning directors such as Vadim Jean and Julian Kemp.
She lives and works between New York City and London.
