Jose Antonio(I)
- Actor
Jose Antonio was born in Miami, Florida from Cuban heritage, the son of
Hispanic America's foremost TV chef, the inimitable Chef Pepin.
His prodigious career in the entertainment industry began when at the tender age of 17 MTV Latin America hired him as the Production Assistant of its Noticias MTV show, a position that later opened the doors for him to become Talent and Artist Relations Coordinator and later Executive Communication Manager. Afterwards, Jose moved to PolyGram Records/Universal Music as International Marketing Manager where he was responsible for the Latin American marketing and promotion of such international mega-stars as, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Shania Twain, Enrique Iglesias and Hanson, among others.
But his real passion was to be in front of the cameras, not behind them. He made his television debut on Univision, by conducting an exclusive interview with singer Enrique Iglesias for the Spanish-language network's prime-time reality-news program 'Primer Impacto' which led him to become one of national correspondents for NBC's 'Latin Access.' Antonio recently ended a two-year run as host of Univisoion/Telefuture network's 'Cartelera Pepsi' (Pepsi Smash) and wrapped-up the filming of his role as Jorge Velazco on Univision's first-ever dramatic series, 'Al Filo De La Ley.'
He is currently the host of The Drop on SiTv, (a 24-hour English-Language Latino Cable network that connects with young viewers through vibrant and relevant programming made just for them.) and will make a cameo appearance in the 2005 comedy 'Phat Girlz' starring Mo'Nique.
