Chris Silber is an Emmy winning writer, producer and filmmaker who splits his time
between Los Angeles, Atlanta and Berlin. His most notable contributions to film include
Golden Globe and Bafta nominated "Goodbye Lenin!", critically acclaimed Alpine drama
"North Face" and Black Reel-winning New York romance "My Last Day Without You",
which he also co-produced.
Born in Germany and raised bilingual, Silber co-created Disney+ / Hulu series "Sam - A Saxon", on which he worked as a head writer and creative producer. Called "a masterpiece" and "a milestone" by critics, the series premiered word-wide in April 2023.
A1940s TV series created by Silber, inspired by his grandfather's encounters with leading Nazi figures after WWII was picked up by a major international studio in 2021, with Silber attached to show-run.
Screen International has called Silber "one of Europe's hottest screenwriters". Several of his works for German-language television have broken ratings records.
In 2011 the Vilcek Foundation honored Silber as "an immigrant filmmaker... whose creative spirit enlivens and inspires American cinema".
A stage actor and music journalist from his teenage years, he debuted as a playwright at the Vienna Burgtheater at the age of 24.
Silber taught screenwriting at La Sierra University in California from 2012 to 2014.
In 2022 he married actress and writer Tracey Graves.
