Hanoi Rocks was founded in Helsinki, but fairly soon the energetic rock
band started to look for the fame first in Stockholm, Sweden and then
London, England. Since the 1981 debut album "Bangkok Shocks, Saigon
Shakes, Hanoi Rocks" the band fairly soon became popular in Europe and
Asia. In the late 1984 the group was about to break in the USA too. But
in Los Angeles, December 9th 1984 Hanoi Rock drummer Razzle died in a
car accident, when Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil lost the control of his new
sports car. This event lead into numerous lineup changes and in
mid-1985 Hanoi Rocks broke up.
In summer 2001 the lead figures of Hanoi Rocks, vocalist/saxophonist Michael Monroe and guitarist Andy McCoy re-joined their forces for a Finnish concert tour under name "Michael Monroe & Andy McCoy - Hanoi Revisited". The next year came the official announcement that Hanoi Rocks had made a comeback.
